Wow, Russ...that is unreal. You know what, I've been seeing 4 figure response days from Jim Harbaugh a lot lately, and I think I know why. The NCAA has become such rule Nazis over the past 25 years or so, that I think college coaches are afraid to write back to their fans. Remember your Mark Richt experience? I wrote him a few weeks back, and put in my letter that the photo I requested an autograph on was going in my man cave, and would not be used as a recruiting gift. I have yet to get a response. You think maybe Harbaugh hoarded away these fan letters and autograph requests and is just now responding to them, fearing that he would put the fine program he built at Stanford in jeopardy by signing autographs that could be sold or used as gifts? Just a thought.
Today's mail brought me some mixed feelings. First I got the autograph of former Florida State wide receiver, Ronald Lewis. Ron was a 2-time All-American at Florida State in 1988 and 1989, and was a member of the San Francisco 49ers Super Bowl XXIV Championship team. Then, I got a preprint 4x6 from Roger Clemens. I have been reading about all these TTM successes (one from you Cee Gee) from the 7-time Cy Young Award winning pitcher, and just had to try it out myself. Did get my card back, and can't say that I was shocked or disappointed. I figured on getting a preprint.
Whats up guys...great stuff Russ...that is a pretty sick wait dude...WOW...you must have been shocked opening that thing up for sure...Jeffery...did you use his home or his charity address ?...LMK also any thing on Kiner yet ?...my pal Dave Jackson just gut an RTS from him recently...
I wrote to Harbaugh way back in 1996 when he was playing with the Colts. I used the team address then. And I must say, the Harbaughs that are starting to come in now look just like mine that was signed 16 years ago. Hasn't changed his signature a bit. From what I hear, he is a class act and a gentleman in person. I think he is on the verge of being one of the all-time greats among football coaches. Get him now when you can, guys! Anybody on here that wants to see my Harbaugh from 1996, just let me know.
I'm sure this as been asked before, but I am curious how one from the United States can get autograph(s) from United Kingdom. How do you place postage on the return envelope (i.e., where does one obtain UK postage)? Do you include US money for the autograph or UK money? If UK, where can one get the necessary bills and how much do you send with request?
Is there anything more one needs to know about sending overseas?
Eric, what has worked for me in the past is purchased international response coupons through the USPS website and then included 4 of them along with a self addressed envelope so that the recipient (or their agent) could use them to purchase the necessary postage in their country. It can get expensive and I have only received back one out of three sent out.
Russ, those are some sweet Don Beebe autographs. That shot on the 1990 Pro Set cards is from the Bills vs. Browns playoff game playe on January 6, 1990. On that play, Beebe went up for the catch, and Felix Wright hit him in the back in mid air, flipping Beebe over, and causing him the land squarely on top of his head. The ball popped out and it was declared an incomplete pass. I thought dude broke his neck, but he got up like nothing happened. Here's the clip:
Today's mail brought me the autograph of current Rochester Red Wings outfielder, Clete Thomas. Clete's a good little outfielder that has played in the big leagues with the Tigers and Twins, and hopes to get some more playing time with the Twins again this season.
To close out the week/month, got a nice autograph from Tom Clements. Tom was the quarterback for Notre Dame when they won the National Championship in 1973, and was an All-American in 1974 while finishing 4th in the Heisman Trophy voting that year. Currently he coaches quarterbacks for the Green Bay Packers, and has been a huge part of that team's recent success.
From one buddy to another russ awsome! Tim burton sent me the same signed picture like that abought a year ago. It is also something that burton and johnny depp have in common about auto penned pics ttm besides working together!
To all my friends in the collecting field. I have to apologize and tell you that i feel that i may not be on here for much longer, my family has become homeless and we are sleeping in our family car. we are trying to find a place but the funds are the hard part. we have found a place that a gentlemen has saved for us but we must come up with 1200.00 dollars. i am probably going to have to sell my entire collection, everything i worked so hard for will be gone. i only hope that if i must that someone will enjoy them as much as i have enjoyed collecting them, they are my therapy and the only thing that helps me forget that i am disabled and worthless to my family. i have enjoyed collecting with all of you and making new freinds through the magazine website, i wanted to thank especially steve for helping me become a member and enjoying all the great people in here. i hope that you all have a safe and blessed 4th of july. until i canspeak again, god bless thanks again for being my special freinds. god bless
I got my trade from russ robinson of a signed card from gary green. Thanks russ! it is a cool card! Hopefully my ttm autos will pick up soon but this a nice one until then!
I'm with you though, hopefully everyone's ttms will start picking up! It's too hot outside, so these celebs should be sitting in the AC answering fanmail! LOL!
I got autographs ttm from barlow girl and rachel mcadams who signed a poster from the movie the vow for me! I believe this is the third time she has signed for me but this is the best yet!
Here is the address i used frederick! and good luck! magnolia entertainment 9595 wilshire blvd. suite 601 beverly hills ca. 9012. It might take awhile because it took about 3 months or more with my latest response from here because she lives in canada!
Got the autograph of Sparky Woods in the mail today. Sparky was the head football coach at South Carolina from 1989-1993. Though they not always had a winning record, they always played tough, knocking off #23 Georgia in 1989, #15 Mississippi State and #16 Tennessee in 1992, and #14 Georgia in 1993. Before all that, he won 2 Southern Conference titles at Appalachian State in 1986 and 1987. He's now the head football coach at VMI, and he's got a good program started there. They are on the verge of turning things around and making some noise in the FCS division in college football.
No ttms for me again today. That's a solid week! I did, however, receive a signed Lee Mazzilli card from a trade that I did with my good buddy, Bob Baab!
Been slacking hard on the nice weather not really writing any up but got such a sweet TTM in last night in I would say 4 weeks...its from Tracy Stallard....the man that gave up Roger Maris's 61st Home Run on an original 61 rookie card of Tracey...he inscribed it Maris 61st HR...I wish I could post this pic on here it is simply awesome....hope every one else does well...have a great weekend boys !!!!!
To wrap up the week, the Professor landed one of pro football's greatest players, Charlie Joiner. Charlie was one of the greatest wide receivers ever in the history of the NFL. He was a part of that great "Air Coryell" tandum of receivers with Kellen Winslow and John Jefferson during his time with the Chargers. At his retirement, he was the NFL's all-time leader in recpetions with 750, and receiving yards with 12,146. He was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1996, and is currently the receivers coach for the Chargers. Not bad for a 4th round draft pick!
great day for collecting today , got my tim burton signatures back. sent him two shelf backer cards from alice in wonderland from blockbuster videos, her signed both and sent me a great 8x10 signed of him as well. great day indeed. only other success i have gotten in twomonths was from Jamie Little from ESPN.
only thing that aggravated me was the we stopped the mail at the post office until we got a PO box because technically we are still homeless, although the hotel is nice. but we have to get a house quick, our funds are running out, but when i got my box and started the mail again, the Tim Burton envelope was open, at the post office for that matter cant trust them anymore, i don't know how many signatures were in it but the fact that it was open and the postal girl was not even concerned enough to say something about it. and they want to cut out service days for a break, these guys are stealing so much of our collections they could finance a small third world country, but my three are good enough for me.

I got two real nice pieces of mail today and one that went right in the crapper! First, I received a signed 1978 Topps Fred Norman from a trade I did with my buddy and fellow Autograph Live member, Robert Babb! Thanks buddy! Your card is on its way! Next, I got 2 of 2 from Charles Oakley. Finally, I got a rubberstamped picture from Tim Burton. He also stamped the Batman cards that I sent. At the risk of sounding ungrateful, and knowing the risk of sendibg to any celebrity, his people could have just sent the photo. Oh well, at least that wasn't the only thing that I got!
