Sent Arnold Palmer LOR, 8x10 photo, and SASE on 11/7/12. Received my 8x10 signed today. Unfortunately, I believe it is autopen. Looks a little shaky, and the dots at the end tell the whole story i think. Thoughts? =/
Nothing ttm for Monday, but I did receive autographs from, IWF superstar, Kevin Knight.
I recently ordered some 8x10 off of the IWF website and when I got them in, there were these sweet show flyers included! Being the good autograph collector that I am, instead of digarding the flyers, I sent them to Kevin Knight for signing! Not only did he sign my flyers, but he also included a signed postcard of his own! Classy!
Ryan, I got that same Clemens pic when I wrote to him this summer, and mine was clearly a preprint. Look at it real closely in the some bright lighting. When I did with mine, you could tell that the signature is part of the picture instead of on top of the picture. Hope you got the real deal. Others say they have, but I didn't.
Mine is most definitely the real deal, several people have gotten there's back in the last few days and all are different, mine is even blue sharpie, whereas some others are black. It's hard to snap a pic of the "shiny glare" a sharpie puts out in direct light, but here is my attempt:
Sweet! Maybe I'll try 'ole Rocket out again soon. Today, I got the autograph of former Florida State University football great, Mark Salva. Mark played for the Seminoles from 1984 - 1987, and was a key member of the offensive line on that fantastic 1987 squad that went 11-1 and beat Nebraska in the Fiesta Bowl.
The mail was so nice, it got delivered twice! Mailman circled back around this afternoon, and dropped off the autograph of former Flyers, Canucks, and Penguins defenceman, Kevin McCarthy. Kevin played in the NHL from 1977-1988. He was an All-Star in 1981, as well as serving as the Canucks team captain from 1979-1982, which included that magical season in 1981-1982 where he and Stan Smyl lead the Canucks to the Campbell Conference championship. He won a Stanley Cup in 2006 as an assistant coach for the Hurricanes, and is currently an assistant coach for the Flyers.
TTM success from a hometown hero, and fellow IU alumni: Calbert Cheaney. Signed my 8x10, and even personalized it with an inside joke! (I went to the same middle school that he did, he went to a different high school, and was supposed to go to the one that I went to!)
Got a nice TTM oppurtunity for all you Yankee fans...this weekend, Frank Moiger, a sports memorabilia promoter here in the Atlanta area, is havign a show this weekend and is having an autograph guest in the former of former Yankee great, Brian Doyle. Brian stepped up big time in the 1978 World Series, filling in for an injured Willie Randolph at second base and teamed with shortstop Bucky Dent to form quiet possibly the greatest middle infielding performance in World Series history. While Dent won the Series MVP that year, it was Brian who set the table, hitting .438 with a double, 4 runs scored, and 2 RBI. Autographs are only $5 each, and all the money goes to support the Atlanta Food Bank. I know it's short notice, but contact Frank and see if maybe he could get an item autographed and you guys send in the $5 donation with return postage. Here is his info: 678-644-6057, or e-mail utvol69@aol.com
Wanted to wait until I was able to get a good enough picture to post...got this nice little gem on Wednesday, former Florida State University linebacker, Shelton Thompson. Shelton played for FSU from 1986-1989, and was the teams leader in quarterback sacks with 8.5 in 1989.
Yesterday, I got a reply from a member of one of my all-time favorite tag teams: The Warlord! Not only did he sign all 4 of my pin-ups, but he also sent along a signed 8x10 of his own! Stoked!
Had a great Monday mailday! First, I received 6 signed trading cards from, author, Linda Wisdom. Secondly, I added a signed John Wockenfuss to my Toledo Mudhens collection. Kevin Harvick was gracious enough to sign my Tylenol cards. And former WWE superstar Akio Sato signed my wrestling pin-up!
Christmas came early for the 'ole Professor. First, I got a nice vintage piece - a signed 1963 Topps Del Shofner. Del was one of the greatest receivers of his era. He was voted to the NFL 1960s All-Decade Team, and was a 5-time All-Pro. He played from 1957-1967, and amassed 349 catches for 6,470 yards, and 51 touchdowns. He was also MVP of the Sugar Bowl in 1957 when he guided Baylor to a 13-7 win over Tennessee.
And lastly, one that I have wanted for years. As a good 'ole boy from south Georgia, I was born and raised in a small town called Fitzgerald, which is about an hour away from Plains, where our 39th President was born and raised. We always studied him in school since he is not only part of Georgia history, but also US and World history. Though I have met him a couple of times and shared a few pleasantries, I have never been able to secure his autograph. Love him or hate him, Jimmy Carter has always followed his convictions and stayed true to what he thought was right and did his best. And to have something very personal from him to me really made my day today.
First, I received a nice signed Christmas card from, authoer, Joseph Finder.
Second, I got my trading card back signed by Dan Brereton. He even drew a sweet picture of Frankenstein on the card decoy that I sent him, which he also signed!
I received a nice Christmas card today from my friends Jon and Laurie (Jacobson) Provost. Jon starred as Timmy Martin on the old b/w Lassie TV series back in the late 50s through the 60s.
Hi all,, as the proud owner of a R K Barrett(Syd) i would love to compleat my set of Pink Floyd,, with Bob Klose,, has anybody any tips or address to try for one !
Hello, I have started a discussion specific discussion for "NBA/NCAA TTM" that I will be adding my bball TTM successes to from now on. As for a "non-bball" TTM, today I received a photo from Mr. Jay Leno!
Today, I got a ttm response from Kitty Callhoun Grissom. Unfortunately, I don't collect cards with signatures on the back. So I'll list this one on Listia in hopes that I can get a few credits for it.
I also got a couple of baseball cards in a Christmas card from my good buddy Bob! Thanks pal!
This isn't TTM, but I wanted to show it off anyway. As many of you know, 90% of my collection are of Tommy Tresh items. Mr. Tresh has been my favorite ballplayer of all time since 1962. And I just received the below items; and they arrived on my birthday.
Unfortunate mailday for me today. I feel sorry for the mailman that he had to brave this blizzard to deliver such garbage to my door.
First, I got a Hector Guerrero card back ttm signed on the back. I will be listing this one on Listia.
Secindly, I wrote to Bruno Sammartino and sent him this bio card from the back of my old LJN wrestling figure. Not only did it come back unsigned, but also creased severly. I don't know if I should blame him or the USPS. Terrible mail day!
Sorry to hear that russ! I also got a christmas card from my good buddy russ robinson who also sent me signed trading cards of teddy long and dixie carter. Thanks again russ!
I got an autograph ttm from roy wayne farris aka the honky tonk man. He had some awsome battles with the macho man, jake roberts, and brutus the barber to name a few. I met him in person a few times and hopefully he will be inducted into the wwe hall of fame someday! Happy new year to everyone on here!
I'm sick of you guys having all the fun. I mailed out 19 requests on this afternoon's mail truck, and another 2 going out tomorrow morning. Here's hoping to a great start in 2013! Nice stuff Russ and Rob! Hoping for a goodie waiting for me at home this afternoon.
