Best non-paint pen marker for leather and fabric?

I am going to be obtaining signatures this weekend, and I plan on having some jerseys and cleats signed. 

Last experience I had with a paint pen the marker did not sign well at all and not sure how to even remove the ink. See below

What are the best markers to use on leather and fabric? Would regular black sharpie do well?
