And Mark, I fully understand where you are coming from. But being a Braves fan, when I pay for an autograph, I try and get just more than the autograph. I like to chat with the athlete/celebrity, ask them questions about past influences, greatest moments, etc. If I pay $50 for an in person autograph, and get 1 minute or 2 of their time, I fell like that was worth it. Sometimes I get way more than that! When I met Tommy Hanson at BP Sports in Marietta, GA, (GREAT store by the way,) earlier this summer, there was hardly anyone in line or at the store when I got there. So me, Tommy, and one of his business partners, former Georgia Tech star and Cleveland Indian Scott Jordan, all sat around and talked pitching, hitting, toughest batters Tommy had faced so far, etc. for a good 5 - 10 minutes. I will forever treasure those few moments and remember how wonderful Tommy treated me and thought enough of me as a fan to spend time talking to me. I, too, remember the days of $5 autographs. Remember when Mickey Mantle would charge $7 a pop, any item? And the shear "outrage" collectors felt when Joe DiMaggio started charging the "rediculous" price of $20 for premium items like bats and jerseys? Man, those days are gone! :) I've asked agents politely why the prices have increased over the years, and they simply say because the demand is so great, and the player's time and schedule is so limited, and, there are so many people who get something signed at 1:00 p.m., then have it on ebay for sale at 4:00 p.m. the same day. Players get miffed about people making money off their name and not getting paid for it, so they feel X number of dollar amount is compensation enough. I look at it this way, if you REALLY want it, and HAVE to have it, you'll pay or do what you need to do to get it. Kind of like crack, only safer and legal. :)
The mailman dropped of a couple of ttm successes for me today along with some cool Listia auctions that I had won.
The ttms wre from WWE Hall of Famer Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat and former Nascar owner and drag racing star Kenny Bernstein!
My Listia winnings consisted of signed trading cards of TNA stars Abyss, Jay Lethal, Jesse Neal, and Mr. Kennedy.....Kennedy!
'Twas a good day for mail!
I got autographs TTM from Barbara Eden & Steffani Brass. I had emailed Steffani Brass and she actually replied and then sent out the photo. I got Barbara Eden IP in Atlanta but had mailed a photo and request before that. So I have two!!! I also received 4 autograph photos of Honor Blackman. Two were purchases and two were free. There was some problems with my order and that's how I got two free and the pics personalized. It's a long story. But I am thankful.
I got Anfernee Hardaway back today on a couple of real cool 1993 Classic Draft Picks 3x5 cards and a response from Derek Lilliquist that was gone 671 days! Never give up I guess!
Today, I recieved a ttm success from Steve Alford c/o University of New Mexico. Also recieved a couple of signed cards from Listia auctions that I won in the form of a signed TNA Impact card of Jay Lethal and an Upper Deck card of Officer Hightower himself, Bubba Smith! Today's mail brought successes from former Washington Capital Pat Peake and former GLOW wrestler Big Bad Mama! Not only did BBM sign a poster for me, but she also took the time to send a very nice hand written note along with it! Great success!
I got quite a few TTM today. I got autograph photos from Erica Cerra, Gemma Arterton, Richard Dawson, William Daniels, and President George W. Bush (bookplate). The Erica Cerra one was surprising. I had met her at Atlanta Dragon Con and sent her a letter afterward...thank you etc. I was surprised to get an autographed photo from her. I didn't ask for one because I got one at Atlanta Dragon Con. She wrote me a really long note covering over half the photo! Really cool! She's become one of my favorites!
No ttms today. Bummer. Luckily, I recieved some great Listia auctions back today.
First up is a signed program autographed by the group Blue County. Thanks to my good friend Bob Baab! Secondly I received a signed lot of 6 cards featuring:

Ellie Dapkus - 1995 Fritsch
Bubba Smith - Bramec
Don Nelson - 1992 Skybox
Dave Marcis - 1998 Real Tree
James " Buster" Douglas - 1991 Kayo Personalized to "Wayne"
I was real excted that I won this lot because I have wanted Douglas forever. I was real disappointed to find that the card was personalized. The personalization didn't show up in the pic. Had I known, I wouldn't have bid on it. So I'm just going to re - list it and try to get some of my credits back.
Today's mail brought an autograph of NHL Hall of Famer, John Bucyk. John was one of the greatest Boston Bruins players ever, and signed a custom card I made of him. He was the team captain on those great Bruins teams in 1970 and 1972, when they won the Stanley Cup, and is the Bruins all-time goals leader.
I received in the mail today (2) signed cards from former Colts quarterback Jeff George. I sent a donation to his cancer foundation and was happy to get the cards even though he did personalize them and used an old sharpie where his signature ran together a bit but it was a good cause.

received ttm autographs for myself and my youngest son conner an autograph from Guy Fieri from food network.personalized and signed to each of us, great success.
I received TTM from Ex-baseball player Ted Savage. I received my photo that I purchased from Dawn Wells today. It took 10+ weeks and they threw in an extra photo but the photos were printed off a regular printer on low settings. Since I was purchasing an autograph, I figured it would be a professional photo but I print out higher quality photos at home. I am disappointed.
Just thought that I would share this.
Andy Irons, a three-time world surfing champion and one of the more popular athletes on the Assn. of Surfing Professionals' elite World Tour, has died after coming down with an undisclosed illness during a competition in Puerto Rico.
Irons was only 32 and leaves behind a pregnant wife, Lyndie, and younger brother, Bruce, who is a former World Tour competitor.
Irons was not only a great surfer, but he was also a very good ttm signer.
Such a shame to lose some one at such a young age. R.I.P. Andy.
I received my Star Trek photo autographed by Grace Lee Whitney in the mail on Thurs. It cost $10. The cool thing is Ms. Whitney sent me 2 other autographed photos, too. They were B&W 8X10s from The Man From Galveston. They are really cool photos. I've never seen the movie but now I will have to watch it.
You're welcom Bob! I never mind helping out a friend!
On the ttm front, I received a signed picture of David McLane today. He is the original creator of G.L.O.W. wrestling! Spectacular success!
I received a John Travolta TTM today. I didn't ask for it. It was a surprise. I had sent a letter asking Mr. Travolta if the picture I had gotten was a secretarial or authentic? I didn't expect a response. I received a picture today with the inscription Mark- IT is me! Enjoy!
That's mean if he really didn't sign it. Lol
I got an autograph off of ebay of wrestler brad armstrong for 5 bucks and a return from joe fraziier with a price list of what he charges for autos. I will have to probably pass on what he charges though!
