Hey, everyone! I've gotten a little lazy this week, and am late in telling you all about my recent mail success of Los Angeles Sparks star, Candace Parker. Candace was an All-American basketball player at Tennessee, and is now one of the WNBA's brightest young stars. She signed a picture of herself I cut out of a Sports Illustrated depicting her tearing the rim off a basketball goal in an urban basketball court. She also sent along a very nice signed letter saying she had not seen that picture in a long time, and was excited to hear what a big fan I was. She is a super nice young woman, great to her fans.
Hey, Mark, I sent out 99 requests this year. I got back 61, had 5 complete failures, and am still waiting on 33. 61% success rate (66/99). Not too shabby in my opinion.
Oh, and I for got to tell everyone.......on December 21st, I got back my project of 300 game winners in baseball, signed by Nolan Ryan. Nolan was probably the greatest pitcher of the last half of the 20th century: 324 wins, 5,714 strikeouts, and 7 no-hitters. I got it through his his foundation. you can send them anything and he'll sign it, and the prices are not bad in my opinion. All the money goes to his foundation that helps children and many different community activites in Alvin, TX. Great cause and a great autograph from a super classy guy.

Well I thought I was going to get left out of all the fun this week, but I got 2 back today...sort of. The first one was of Sidney Crosby, the star centre for the Pittsburgh Penguins. It turned out to be a pre-print post card, and a facsimile signed letter. The was a beautifully signed 1989 University of Georgia Collegiate Collections card of former All-SEC defensive back,Claude Hipps. Claude played for UGA in 1944, and then again from 1949-1951 (he served time in the military in between,) and also for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1952-1953. He was so happy and honored I wrote to him and researched him, that he also sent along a very nice, heart-felt thank you card. What a classy guy.
I finished out the week with a signed card of former Brewers pitcher Tom Hausman.
I also stopped by the post office yesterday and picked up a couple of books of stamps. I plan on spending the rest of my weekend inside a warm house and getting cards ready to send out for autographs!
Today's mail brought some nice Listia winnings. I received signed cards of ball players Les Norman and Ed O'Brien as well as an authentic Inkworks card signed by Steve Brand. He played Memnon in The Scorpion King! These are great additions to my collection! Thanks to Mr. Utz and Mr. Muzzulo for listing such neat auctions!
Can anyone recommend a list to purchase of addresses? I haven't participated in TTM autographs for quite a while but intend on getting into it again. Thanks!
@ Lee. If I were you, I would just do a search for addresses. There are plenty of free lists online as well as free sites such as this one where you can get addresses from the stars that you want. I wouldn't waste my money buying lists.
I got my RR auction purchases and Pristine auction purchases today 1 Photo of ADRIANA CASELOTTI the voice of Snow white , 2 autographed photos of MADELEINE CARROLL, a 11x14 signed cast photo from Saving Grace, a 1984 Topps baseball card signed by Phil Niekro, 87 donruss card signed by ANDRE DAWSON, Rachel McAdams signd picture for Sherlock Holmes, Anne Hathaway as the white Queen- Alice in wonderland , Alicia Whitt. signed photo, Allison Eastwood signed photo, Photo of Jane Krakiwski, Fran Drescher, Jon Favreau, And Wes bentley and 5 that im gonna put on Listia , which are Gil Bellows, Giuseppe Andrews, Scott Ferrall, James DeBello, and Travis Fimmel
lee i agree with russ. there are plenty of adresses to get for free. you can try movie eye.com this is a good one. you can actually check out my personal site. i have a bunch of links that you can check out. i reccomend you stay away from fanmail.biz is has proven to be contaminated with spyware and adware. deffinatly stay away from it. the rest of the links on my website have proven profitable and safe. the site is www. afterhourssuccesses.webs.com i always post my successes and failures and some of the successes in the photo gallery. its free and i can always use some new freinds.
Lee you may want to start by buying the last few issues of Autograph magazine and try them most I used from there were always good and there is a lot of vareity! Good Luck!
still trying to figure out how to veiw the magazine on line. i have three years worth but it seems like it will take me that long to get into it. any one wanna help me out?
Hey Adam, that Niekro autograph is nice, ain't it? He does such a good job signing items for his fans. He really takes his time, and finds the best place to sign the item. I've met him several times at some of his charity events here in Atlanta, and he is so nice each and everytime.
I got a nice signed 8x10 of former major leaguer Ozzie Canseco! After years of trying to get him ttm I was finally able to acquire this from a Listia auction!
I went through the NWAlegends site and purchased a Christy Hemme autograph for $5. It's on inkjet paper but hey...only $5. It arrived today in great shape.
@ Mark. That NWALegends site is a great site! They have such a huge selection of great older wrestlers! I had a hard time choosing which ones to order. The only pic that I got that wasn't on inkjet paper was Johnny Weaver, but I may have lucked out. But, for $5, it's well worth it!
I got an autograph ttm from lesley gore who is famous for the hit Its my Party. Nwa legends site is cool for autographs. A few years back when they stood had bret hart and ricky steam boat autos for 10 bucks.
