dont fel bad dawn, i havehadmy runs with the postal service, thenice thing is they deliva mydestroyed autographs or requests in plastic bags withapologies, they have already cost me a couple of celebrities that have passed.
ok well today turned out to be the ice breaker, i sent off two small color prints to James earl jones at the beginning of february, i sent them to the golden theatre where he was performing driving miss daisy with ms. redgrave. i received both signed in the mail today , and as usual, they stuffed them into the mail box, lucky for me they were small enough that they were not damaged.
I got a ttm autograph from bob uecker today! Also got from listia the spell of 13 signed dvd and fron ebay a signed stephen j cannell signed book plate.
Spring training ttm from New York Yankees outfielder Curtis Granderson! He didn't sign my TNA wrestling card, but he did send a signed Yankees card and I got my wrestling card back! Real happy with this one!
Darrel, I got James Earl Jones' autograph many years ago through the mail. Nice that he took the time to sign both of yours! I've had mailmen literally fold the envelopes in half (hence photos with creases down the middle) and I've actually had mailmen knock on my door and hand them to me so you never know.
Received Johnny Lujack, the 1947 Heisman Trophy winning quarterback for Notre Dame, in the mail today. He signed for me his 1990 Notre Dame Collegiate Collections card. Johnny had one of, if not THE most, spectacular college football careers ever. He quarterbacked Notre Dame to 3 National Championships, and even served our country in World War II in between.
sorry i am so slow posting my successes to the web site folks, the move and my back are keeping down and slow. this is day two of the move, the wife had to work again and the kids well they are kids so i am basically doing it myself. the weather has not co-operated with us at all. rain all weekend so far. that and i fell off the tail gate of the truck, owwwww . captain clumsy strikes again. i tell you , gravity sucks!
dawn i had tried for many years to get mr jones to sign for me but no luck. i actually found out that he was doing driving miss daisy on broadway and sent a letter and two 3x5 inch photos that i printed off and about a month later i received the envelope i sent with them back. but, like an idiot, i forgot to mark it do not bend. lucky for me he only sent the two pictures back that i sent signed, because the mail man shoved them in the box with out any regard. i am in a new neighborhood and a new mail person so we will see.
Darrel, sorry to hear about your fall, moving sucks! lol
Good luck with the new mailman. Our route is a training route for the city so we constantly get new mailmen and about twice a month I get other folks mail or folks are bringing mail to me that they received. I wonder sometimes how many of my photos ended up in someone elses mailbox!
It was funny when everyone was being told last year that Mr. Jones wouldn't be signing until May 2010 because he was in London doing a play with Phylicia Rashad I decided to find out where and mailed them both to the venue in London. I ended up receiving both back unbent and all signed. He is a really fantastic signer.
Just received Yvonne Strahovski's autograph from Chuck television show on Saturday and it only took from 02/04/2010 until 03/05/2011. So I guess it's true don't give up they may eventually show up.
I got back a success from Lucky Cannon today. I wasn't so lucky though as he signed the back of his trading card. So, this one is up for sale or trade if anyone is interested.
I received a autograph picture of davy jones that i purchased off of his website. He even sent me a few extras and signed the envelope as well. Thanks Mr. Jones! You and the monkees rule!
I got a sweet return form Larraine Newman today! This one was gone a while as it had a 42 cent stamp on it! I'm actually surprised that the P.O. didn't make me pay the extra 2 cents! LOL!
I also received a signed index card of Tara Strong from my good buddy Bob! Thanks Bob!
I've met Larraine on several occasions. Melanie Chartoff is a friend, and she and Larraine are very close. Larraine is a great person and wonderful with fans. Between her kids and her job she's really busy, so it's not a surprise it took a while to get it back.
Your welcome russ! Maybe their is hope still for my response from larraine newman. I did get a response from melanie chartoff when she wrote for autograph magazine.
i finally succeeded, after three years of trying, i received my dick clark in the mail today. it is officially the greatest first autograph of the new address. i am almost done with the move. i have a little left to move and then its clean up and i am into the organizing the new house. tonight its miller time, or atleast captain morgan time.
I've had a really nice 2 weeks. Got autographs of 1948 Outland Trophy winner Bill Fischer, former LSU and Denver Bronco great Michael Brooks, Orioles catcher Matt Weiters, college football great Bill Curry, fromer Miami Dolphin great Bob Baumhower, and NFL Hall of Famer Charley Trippi.
I got a nice listia package of autographs today consisting of penny marshall, tim conway, david ogden stiers, christa miller, bob barker, dana dalany, alan alda, linda lavin, jerry van dyke, and catherine bach. They all look authentic except for the one of jerry van dyke that is autopened. Not a bad package anyway!
Congrats on the package Bob! I also received a couple of Listia wins. I won an autographed b&w picture of Oakland A's Mack Babbit and signed trading cards of Guy Carbonneau, Alan Bannister, and Thomas Bjorn!
OMG, ive been in this new house less then two weeks and the autographs are rolling in.ive have received two great autos since being here. im beginning to think that it was the house i was iving in or maybe the mail person . any way. today i received a great 8x10 color signed from chris daughtry. my wife is giving me the evil eye because i said its mine! oh well she only has to wait till i die to get them all lol.
Well this week I received a signed note from David & Julie Eisenhower, and a RTS was sent back t ome. I had written George Gaynes (Punky Brewster) and the address I used was no longer a good one.
I received back my "The Official Mickey Mouse Club Book" today from Mouseketeer Mary Espinosa. I had sent it to her last summer to obtain her autograph. When she received it, she informed me that she had been invited, along with several other Mouseketeers, to attend a D23 event at Disneyland in September 2010 & offered to obtain Sherry Alberoni's and Don Grady's autographs in the book for me. She and Don became friends after they met for the Mouseketeers 50th anniversary reunion 5 years ago. She was finally able to get him to sign last week, as they have both been very busy. That's why it's taken so long to receive the book back. I now have 18 signatures throughout the book, including the authors.
well as i said i am exstatic about this new house, the mail lady is now my best freind, well as long as she keeps bringing me the autographs, like, today, got a standerd envelope with no name on it except mine, when i open it i received a nice leeter and a personalized and signed photo of jackie collins. the letter was from her personal assistant but did say that the picture was personally signed by jackie so yayyyyyyy! hope everyone else is having good luck. i have another fifty letters going out over thye next two weeks,
I had a full mailbox today! I got a signed Pavel Bure card from a Listia win and ttm success from Geoff Bodine, Matt Snell, Mark Van Eeghen, and Tom Gregory! I did get a r.t.s. from Jim Houston, but I'm really not complaining!
Today I received back the 2 unsigned items that I sent to Yogi Berra, which he added a small flyer along with my unsigned items asking $100 bucks for his autograph. I'll be honest, I was pretty shocked and disappointed that he was asking for that kind of money. I respect him but $100 is pretty steep for me.
Today i got autographs ttm from danielle spencer who used to play on whats happening and elinor donohue who played on father knows best and andy griffith. I also got my order from elmers nostalgia consisting of autographs of bryan hyland, bobby lewis, and trini lopez. Danielle Spencer also sent me a nice note that she has a book coming out. A nice day for autographs!
another trgic loss to the collecting world. Elizabeth Taylor died at the age of 79 years old, i sent off about two months ago, i hope it reached her before it was too late. She will be at micheal jacksons side for eternity now. rip ms. taylor

Received back the magazine cover I sent to Goldie Hawn back in August. She signed and inscribed it to my family.
(love how the mailman jammed it in our mailbox when it clearly said "Do Not Bend" all over it. It seems to be ok however.)
