Got a weak ass pre print from Peyton Manning today...I guess I missed that train of free autos...he was pumping out TTM autos for like a year...oh well...no biggie...hopefully I will get some thing good in later tonight...
I sent Tony Kubek a card with a check and I get a letter in the mail telling me today he will just send it back unopened....really !?!?!?!?!...If this happens I am going to be quite pissed off...my previous request was sent un opened...I don't know how the hell he is going to know there is payment in there...I need him for my 58 set
Is it just me, or does it seem like to everyone else that the hardest autographs to collect in the area of sports are those of baseball players? Sure does seem that way to me. Today, the mail brought me the autograph of World Golf Hall of Famer, Billy Casper. Billy was one of the greatest golfers on the PGA Tour, and is 7th on the all-time wins list. He won the U.S. Open in 1959 and 1966, then followed those up with a Master's championship in 1970.
Today was a good mailday for me. First, I got my Georgia Bulldogs card back from Mark Richt. And, just when I thought it was safe to go back to the mailbox, I got Sharkboy!
I got a denied request from Monte Irving today with a very decent price guide so I will be sending that back out there...also I got my first TTM from spring training today from Rookie sensation Ramiro Pena...very happy to get one back since they have been very slow in the collecting community...will post a pic Monday...
Finished off the mailweek with a couple of nice successes! This gives me ttm success for 12 consecutive maildays! First, I got 3 of 4 from George Pataki. I'm going to send the one with Giuliani to Rudy for signing! I also got 2 of 2 from WWE Legend Ivan Putski on some vintage WWF cards.
Finally got my first TTM form spring training on Saturday in 12 days...Ramiro Pena...hope to get some more in this week...I am at about 2 weeks with about 25 out there so I think I may be able to get some in this week...or even today...will see guys....
5 day return. A great guy and amazingly great handwriting at 94 years young. Virgil Trucks signed original 1951 bowman, and gave me another card signed from when he played for the A's in 1956. Great guy.
Both just in ttm....I cant begin to explain how much I love both of these 2 pieces...I got them at a Steiner signing and sent them out ttm...I got Fingers for 15...I also sent Kiner a check but he never cashed it....and added that sweet ass inscription...man this really hits home for me...i haven't got anything really good back to be proud of...this takes the collecting cake !!!!!!!
Hey Jeff...I think now may be your chance...I did send Kiner a check for 20 but he never cashed it...probably sooner or later but it worked....dude...I got him now 2 for 2....
Today's mail brought 2 for 2 of Nigel Terry who played King Arthur in Excalibur and 2 for 2 of Raquel Welch from 10,000 Years B.C. and The Four Musketeers.
Sorry guys, no time for pics tonight. I did get a couple of nice WWE successes today though! First, I got 3 of 3 from The Godfather. Secondly, I got my card back from, former World Champion Jack Swagger!
Zipper, since he used a blue marker and my picture sucked its not easy to see good, but it matches up to the one you showed and my other responses. I write him pretty regularly and he always writes me notes back, this time he wrote me a whole letter. signature on the letter also matches. The "fire" on the 51 bowman also matches your example exactly (he used a thinner marker it looks like). I will take a better picture and post it.
Zipper, I appreciate the comment, because if something I have in my collection is not real I do want to know it. Thanks for looking. Here is a closeup of the card signature and the signature on the letter that came with it.
That looks better. The letter looks like it should... and I can see more of the quivering in the signed card now. On the previous scan it looked much smoother. Maybe the thicker barrel of the Sharpie is also easier for him to grip, thus less shakiness. Sorry for the false alarm. :-)
No problem at all Zipper. Thats what I love about this site! If something seems or is questionable people here will call it out. I love it! If I have something thats not good, its better to get my feel goods hurt now rather than a few years down the road after I have made it my prized possession and brought it out at every family reunion to show off, LMAO.
Those are awesome Russ...sending to him this week...did they take long to come back ?...another friend of mine got him last night...I think his took about 2 months...I got some sweet stuff to send to him...he's beyond awesome...big fan of The Simpson's...one of my favorite shows of all time...
Thanks CEE GEE! I love the Simpsons too! I'm kind of working on getting a few cards signed by the actors. Nothing Earth shattering, but, occassionally, I will send a few out. The last one I tried was Yeardly Smith, but that was an R.T.S. This one took 212 days. Maybe he's catching up on his mail. Good Luck!
I got autographs ttm from wrestler dean malenko and author christopher paolini. I also got in the mail a book i ordered off of james best website called best in hollywood- the good. the bad. and the beautiful also signed by james best himself!
I got 2 in today! First, I got a couple of signed bookmarks from, author, Lauren Hunter! I also got 3 cards signed by the Road Dogg! My only hope is that he takes some of that big WWE money that he is making now and buys some new Sharpies! The one that he signed these cards with has seen better days! LOL!
Having a very nice mail week so far. Today's mail brought me the autograph of Bobby Richardson. It's been well documented on this thread what a great New York Yankee he was, but did you guys know what a great college baseball coach he was? He completely turned around the University of South Carolina baseball program in the 1970's, and helped guide them to a 51-6 record in 1975 and second place in the College World Series. Overall he had a phenominal coaching record of 220-90 from 1970 through 1976.
Yesterday's mail brought me the autograph of 1940 NFL MVP and Pro Football Hall of Famer, Clarence "Ace" Parker. Ace will turn 100 years old on May 17th, so due to age, his signature has changed quite a bit. He's still going strong from what I hear.
Can anyone see the pics I posted? I may have to just give up on it, and if anyone wants to see a pic of something I get in the mail, let me know and I'll text it to you. Can't figure this stuff out. Computers are not my thing.

I don't want to cast unnecessary doubt, but that Virgil Trucks really has me wondering...
Could someone be signing his mail for him? He had a stroke or something years ago and every exemplar I've seen has been quite shaky.
It's possible he has recovered, but this is what I would expect to get back from Mr. Trucks:
