Got this nice little package at work today. A signed 8x10 of former Falcons quarterback, Steve Bartkowski. Steve was awesome, and had so many great games for the Dirty Birds. He even beat out the great Dan Marino in 1983 for the NFL passing title.
2 days in a row for The Professor! Today's mail brought me the autograph of former NHL goalie, Don Edwards. Don was a fantastic goaltender for 10 seasons with the Sabres, Flames, and Maple Leafs from 1976-1986. 1980 was his greatest, as he was an All-Star and won the Vezina Trophy along with his partner Bob Sauve.
He even autographed my letter to him! What a class act from one of the classiest players ever.
The envelopes keep on coming....today's mail brought me the autograph of former NHL defenceman, Phil Russell. Phil played 15 seasons with the Black Hawks, Flames, Devils, and Sabres from 1972-1987. He was an All-Star in 1976, 1977, and 1985, and was the Flames captain from 1981-1983.
Saturday brought me the autograph and a very sad note from Francis S. Currey, 1945 Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. Mr. Currey is a true American treasure. He was in Malmedy, Belgium, when his platoon encountered a tremendous enemy attack. After being driven back and forced to retreat to an abandoned factory, Mr. Currey and his platoon faced defeat and almost certain death. Securing a bazooka he found laying around inside the factory, he and a fellow solider who provided cover fire criss-crossed the street, firing on and destroying one of the tanks and taking out 3 enemy soliders. He kept advancing to the enemy stronghold, which had taken over a nearby house and was firing upon Mr. Currey and his platoon. He fired one of the bazooka rockets he found earlier in that abandoned factory, and blew up part of the house, blowing out one of the walls. It was at this time, he noticed 5 American soliders who had been pinned down by the enemy fire from the house and could not escape. Mr. Currey crossed the street again to a vehicle where he found an armful of tank grenades, all the while being continuously fired upon. He crossed back over the street, and blew up the other 2 tanks that were still firing upon his platoon and the other 5 soliders. As the enemy tank members retreated into the occupied house, Mr. Currey climbed aboard a half-track in full view of the enemy forces inside the house, and unloaded upon the compound, killing and wounding some, and driving out the rest from their position. Because of this, those 5 soliders and Mr. Currey's platoon were saved and able to take cover and see another day.
As happy as I was to obtain this truly great American historical figure's autograph, I was deeply saddened by the note he sent along. I sent him a blank index card to use for the autograph, and he wrote on it, "Due to an unfortunate incident some time ago; I no longer autograph blank cards. Enclosed find two of my personal cards autographed. Francis S. Currey" Has somebody defrauded these great men in the past? That just breaks my heart. These men gave us so much to be thankful for, and for people to take advantage of them deeply saddens me. I think in my future letters to Medal of Honor recipients I'm going to mention that they don't have to use the index card if they do not want to.
Happy Columbus day everyone! I waited until today to post Saturday's ttm successes!
First, Stump Mitchel signed 3 of 3 for me and my son, Domenik.
Second, Cynthia Kallgren is running for Michigan Congress and had these sweet cards made up. I got one at a music festival that I went to. Not only did she sign my card, but she also sent me 5 more cards! Too bad that she didn't sign them! If anyone wants one of the unsigned ones, message me. I'll give you one for free. All you have to do is send me a sase. The address that I used for the autograph is on the back of the card.
i got an autograph ttm from estelle harris today! Over the weekend i got an autograph from elmers nostalgia of a signed hulk hogan trading card and from my good buddy russ! i got a jim cornette autograph! Thanks russ! and from swagbucks i got a signed poster from melee!
After a very dry spot, I finally received a return. A 2/2 from the great James Garner- he even signed one pic twice! Incredible that he signs after his Stroke. (toughts of authencity?)
The only thing that I got ttm today was a return to sender from Ozzie Smith. I wrote to him c/o the Hall of Fame, buit my envelope came back with a sticker on it that says the player doesn't want mail forwarded. Bummer.
I di, however, have a pretty good weekend in my mailbox as you can see from my pics.
Ruuuuuuuuuuuussssssssss !!!!...I have not been on here in a while but glad to see your back to crushing it once again and the rest of you guys...very awesome....
got this in 3 days shy of a full year...damn this was a while...Roger Erickson on a original Topps 83 or 84...not sure now...lol...keep crushing it boys !!!
I got an autograph ttm from current indiana governor mitch daniels. He sent me a signed letter and signed business card as well. What makes mitch daniels neat is he served under ronald reagan and the last president bush as well!
I enlarged this photo of me with Fred Bronson to an 8x10 and enclosed it in his book The Sound of Music Family Scrapbook which I mailed to him back in June 2012. I had asked him, via e-mail, beforehand to see if he'd be willing to sign the photo as well as the book to send back to me. Apparently he forgot, and thought that I had sent him the photo to keep. He returned the book, after signing it, back in June. I finally received the signed 8x10 back a few days ago.
I had a very busy week last week personally, getting home way late every night. But man, my spirits picked up each day when I came home to find these jewels!
On Tuesday, I got the autograph of Joe Restic, starting safety for Notre Dame's 1977 National Championship team.
Then on Wednesday, I got in the mail this autographed 2003 Donruss card of former Braves, Tigers, and Phillies pitcher, John Ennis. Curiously, I sent it out to CA, but it was postmarked from NC.
Friday night brought the autograph of 1953 Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient, Duane Dewey. Mr. Dewey's story is simply incredible. He was receiving treatment for injuries from a grenade that had exploded at his feet, when another grenade was flung into his camp. He yanked down the hospital corpsman out of the way, and rolled himself onto to the live grenade, and absorbed the blast in order to save his fellow soliders. And yet after all of that, he was then shot in the stomach, but still pressed on. Truly a remarkable man and one of America's bravest men that I have ever read about.
And finally Saturday, the mail delivered the autograph of Mr. Hale Irwin, who won 3 U.S. Open golf titles in 1974, 1979, and 1990, and was elected to the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1992.
Can't wait to see what this week might have in store! Good luck everyone!
I got an autograph ttm from john irwin voice of the original he- man and from an order from tna i got my signed figure of one of my favorite wrestlers sting , they even threw in a tna hat in free! I know have the power?
Wow, guys! I want in on some of this action! This week so far, I picked up 2 autographs from Florida State legend and 1986 Golden Spikes Award winner, Mike Loynd. He also pitched in the majors for the Texas Rangers for a period of time. Also scored the autograph of another Florida State baseball legend, Marc Ronan. He was All-Metro conference at catcher, and played one season with the Cardinals. Then, the biggy...on Monday, I got in the mail the autograph of New York Yankee legend and Hall of Fame pitcher, Whitey Ford! I've had this card since I was 10 years old! What a week. Hope there's more to come.
Friday, after an extremely painful day at the dentist, I recieved my sase back from Jim Cornette! I sent him some old pin-ups that I had of him from when I was a kid! These actually used to hang on my bedroom wall! LOL! He graciously signed them all!
I finished up the mail week with a success from, current LSU head football coach, Les Miles! Sorry about the blurry pic.
I got this autographed photo from eBay. Don't know for sure on Randolph Mantooth's authenticity, but I love the photo. I've found out it was taken in Oct. 1998 at an "Emergency!" reunion convention in Burbank.
Happy Halloween all. Just wanted to drop a few lines. still alive and kicking.trying my best to get some successes in. still dead. my last one was from george takai. Wow!. thing got tough and i had to sell about forty of my autographs. but the people just ripped me a new one on the cash. almost nothing for a major chunk of mycollection so now i have to go back and start all over and pray that i canget them back before its not possible. o well. stay safe and god bless to all my freinds out there.
Today, my kids received signed trading cards from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs! They were pretty stoked to add these to the collection!

And finally, after a 461 day wait, I scored the autograph of LSU great, Eric Martin. Eric was an All-American wide receiver who set many receiving records at LSU from 1981-1984. He went on to be a Pro Bowl player for the Saints from 1985-1993, and then ended his NFL career with the Chiefs in 1994.
