Russ, when you send your cards out, do you give the card some protection? like cardboard? also do you send a self addressed stamped envelope with it too? just interested in peoples methods of autograph through mail
Got my 1st ttm back from Ken O'Brien sadly he didn't put it back into the top slider and it got bent up . i had sent it on 1/12/13 and got it back today 2/2/13 will post pics tomorrow
Finally got my insurance card today, along with these sweet Craig Ansman cards! Craig played minor league ball in the Diamondbacks organization, and was a pretty good catcher. I sent him the 2004 Topps and he threw in the 2004 Multi-Ad! Class act.
That's such a disappointment, Bob. For her to be such a wonderful personality in person ( I was an extra in the movie "Joyful Noise,") you can't break through her security / mail handlers to get an autograph.
Ha! I am NOWHERE near being in the credits, and I was only in the scene at the end when they concert competition heats up. I was in the very back of the theatre sitting next to a skanky red head and cheering loudly when the applause meter lit up! I don't think my performance is very note worthy.
Nice mailday to start the week! The downside being that the Team USA card that I sent to Ted Danato got bent up thanks to the fine people of USPS. The Alicia Fox was a trade for a Sharkboy auto.
I have americana cards for 2 of the tuskeegee Airmen and i looked through all my addresses i have copied down and dont have them I need Theobald G.Wilson and Mal Whitfield
Last week I received a Tony Dungy 8x10 from email - took 39 days. Also received 2 Mike Golic photos from email. He inscribed them "Go Irish" as I requested. Awesome. Took little less than a month.
@Jeff it's definitely not autopen. Others have posted the same photo they received and none are identical. It took me 3 different tries but finally got a success! (These are pre-signed, he didn't sign the photo I sent but that is fine with me!) 1st time I got nothing, 2nd time I got pre-print crap, this time authentic!
Russ, straight killed it today! I thought I had a pretty good day, too, but more about that later. Gotta comment on your haul. I think Bruce Armstrong will be a Hall of Famer one day. Look at his career: 6-time Pro Bowl selection, 212 games played, 212 games started, 14 year career in the NFL all with the Patriots. Pretty impressive to me. And I went back to my hometown this weekend to visit my mama for her birthday, and went past the David Ragan Ford car dealership in Perry, GA! That reminded me that I have got to get something out to him. He grew up about an hour from my hometown. Good 'ole South Georgia boy for sure! And glad to see Michael Cole signing the front of the card now. :)
Today was another first for the 'ole Professor. Got an in-person autograph AND a TTM in the same day! Can't ever think of time I've been so fortunate. After meeting 4-time Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler (no, not the Bears QB!) I got home to find this sweet Rich Amaral waiting in the mailbox. Rich was a good steady utility player for the Mariners and Orioles from 1991-2000, playing at least 40 games at every position except for pitcher and catcher.
Got 3 great responses yesterday. First, Bruce Benedict signed my 1986 Donruss card. Bruce was a catcher for the Braves from 1978-1989, and was an All-Star in 1981 and 1983. He set a major league record in 1982 by throwing out 3 base stealers in 1 inning. Next we have Sid Bream. Sid was a first baseman for the Dodgers, Pirates, Braves, and Astros from 1983-1994. He will forever be remembered by us Braves fan for "The Slide" in Game 7 of the NLCS. And finally, Alexei Zhitnik, former defenceman for 5 NHL teams from 1992-2008, signed both of my Thrashers cards, and threw in an extra Buffalo Sabres card. Nice day for some of Atlanta's most revered sports stars.
Pretty good ttm mailday even though I did get 2 return to senders from Joel Zumaya and Tom Goodwin. Also Ricky Steamboat signed my cards on the back, so those imediately went on Listia in hopes of getting a decent amount of credits for them!
Received the autograph of Mr. Wesley Fox, 1971 recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor. Mr. Fox was wounded twice in a battle on February 22, 1969, neutralizing one enemy attack and directing an evacuation mission. True American hero.
Got 2 more former Braves in the mail today. First was Tommy Hanson. Tommy is with the Angels now, and is going to have a great year with a fresh start. We'll miss him for sure. Then I got Rafael Belliard. There is no way we win the 1995 World Series without Rafael filling in at shortstop for an injured Jeff Blauser. His defense was flawless, and his perfect execution of a suicide squeeze won Game 1 and set the tone for the Braves that series. As the Tigers current infield coach, he has helped mold and shape that team into a World Series contender. Plus, check out that NICE shoe print on the Belliard return envelope! I had to pay my postman extra for that. :)
