Awesome week of autographs. Received: "Sweet" Lou Whitaker, Joe Dumars, Ozzie Newsome, Eric Church, Brad Paisley, and Peyton Manning. I owe Ryan a huge Thank You on the Manning success. I was stoked today when I received it.
Today's mail brought me the autographs of Juan Bereneguer, Michael Fitzmaurice, and James Flemming.
Juan Berenguer was a pitcher for several major league ball clubs, most notable for the 1984 World Series champion Detroit Tigers, the 1987 World Series Minnesota Twins, and the 1991 National League champion Atlanta Braves.
Michael Fitzmaurice is a 1973 recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor. On March 23, 1971, Mr. Fitzmaurice was in a bunker with 3 other soliders at Khe Sanh in Vietnam. A group of enemy forces attacked them, throwing 3 explosives in the bunker. Mr. Ftizmaurice grabbed 2 of them and hurled them out of the bunker. There was not enough time to grab the third one, so Mr. Fitzmaurice took off his flap jacket, covered the explosive, and layed on top of it. When the explosive went off, Mr. Fitzmaurice was wounded badly, and partially blinded. He had saved the lives of those in the bunker with him, and refusing medical evacuation, continued to fight with his bare hands to enemy forces that were advancing on his group. A remarkable story of courage.
James Flemming was a 1970 recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor. Mr. Flemming was flying a helicopter mission on November 26, 1968, near Duc Co in Vietnam, aiding a 6-man reconnaissance team. With one helicopter in his group already shot down, and the first attempt at rescue ending in failure, Mr. Flemming went back anyway and landed on the edge of a river bank with the tail of the helicopter hanging over the water. Facing a barrage of intense enemy gun fire, Mr. Flemming kept his position anyway, rescuing all 6 members of the reconn team. Amazing story from a true national hero.
@ Jeffery. Bob Carter is the CEO of Panda Energy, which is the parent company of TNA. He is also the father of TNA president, Dixie Carter. Neil Ross is a voice actor who provided the voice of "Mean" Gene on the old Hulk Hogan'r Rock-N-Wrestling cartoon. Bill Cowher signed the VHS cover.
Today, I got a RTS from Bubba the Love Sponge. I got the address off of his web site, but someone circled his name and wrote "Unknown at this Box" on the envelope. Maybe he doesn't do fan mail anymore.
On the plus side, I got my football card back fro Jason Garrett of the Cowboys after a 446 day wait! I would love to show this off, but for some reason, I can't post pictures on this site anymore.
ttm's have been so slow since the move in, i have gotten a pre print from alan alda as well as a couple others., waiting on several new ones and ready to send more this month.
Both paid requests...both back in a ten day turn around...Got Berra added to my card which was ALL signed TTM...and a cool pic of me and Ford signed from 2001...I have not sent any requests in a long time but getting these 2 back was really rewarding...
I totally crushed it today with my m ailday though!
First, I got 3 of 3 from Teddy Long. He signed my wrestling pin-up that was previously signed by Dan Spivey, a trading card and another pin-up. Unfortunately, he didn't sign the side that had his pic on it, but that of "Hacksaw" Butch Reed. I'm going to re-send in hopes that he will correct it.
I also got 4 of 4 from, former NY Jets linebacker, Jeff Lageman.
Nascar Legend, Dave Marcis signed 6 of 6 for me.
And, finally, Richard Childress signed 2 of 2.
Here's hoping that the rest of the mail week is just as good.
Today, I got 4 of 4 from Bobby Rahal. I'm only keeping 3 as he signed 1 on the back, so that one will be listed on Listia. I also got a RTS from an address that I had for Chuck Palumbo.
Received some great cards this week. First off is Alan Trammell my all time favorite Tiger and two Steve Garvey's. I was pretty lucky on the Garvey. The top of the envelope was ripped open was then stapled shut. Fortunately the cards were not damaged.
Good start to the mailweek. First, I got 3 of 3 from, funnycar driver, Jim Yates. Next, I got 2 of 2 from, former Cleveland Indians catcher, Matt Merullo, and finally, I got a signed trading card from artist david Mack who also included another signed pic and a nice note!
It has been a while since the 'Ole Professor got a bone in the mail, and today I got 2 really nice ones. First, I picked former baseball player, Bob Bailor. Bob played everywhere in the infield, and even pitched in 3 games over his career! Not great at any one thing, but he was good at everything, if that makes any sense. Played with the Orioles, Blue Jays, Mets, and Dodgers. Won 2 World Series in 1992 and 1993 as a coach for Cito Gaston on those great Blue Jays teams. And finally, Bill Stanfill signed a nice 8x10 I sent to him. Bill was an All-American and the Outland Trophy award winner in 1968 at the University of Georgia. He went on to play for the Dolphins in the NFL, and was a big defensive presence on that famed 1972 team that went 17-0.
Today, I got nothing ttm. But my daughter got one of her Monster High cards back signed by, voice actor, Yuri Lowenthal. He does the voice of Deuce in the cartoons! She was pretty excited to get it!
Does anyone have a active address for Mick Jagger, saw him and his family at a art gallery recently, but did not want to bother him whie spending time with his family
I got a sort of success from hacksaw jim duggan ttm. He did not sign my trading card but signed my letter saying sorry kid, hacksaw doesnt live here anymore, and he then says he saw an advertisement that had him performing at the county line bar in melbourne florida which is a hacksaw trademark!
