can any one help me' a year or so before he passed away' I wrote to Ray Charles asking for a autographed picture. I know he was blind' but I was told he had a way of signing.  three weeks after writing I received a autographed 10 x 8 picture' with it was a letter thanking me for getting in touch. The letter came from his managers office.

Can anyone tell me' would Ray use a Auto Pen or not' in the letter it said Ray signed the picture himself' can you help me.

I was glad to get a letter' which made enjoyable reading' I will never sell the picture or the letter with it.

Another American singing star, who I wrote to was Joan Baez'  she was kind enough to send me a letter along with a excellent autographed picture. Over the past number of years' I have been writing to a number of well known American stars' there are a few who have never replayed to my letter' but I'm pleased to say the ones I really wanted have.

I forgot to add in my letter that has just been posted' i have found that nearly 85% of UK actors / singers etc have always signed when I have asked please. But I have seen a number who just want to push pass you and get away as fast as possible.

Those who have never signed anything for anybody have forgotten who made them into stars' its all of us who have seen their films or paid good hard earned cash to see them live. Surely taken a bit of their time to sign a picture or have a picture taken with a fan is not to much to ask.
