not a collector, but back in the day from time to time i would be in a record store when a signing was taking place. all that remains are the bob and an autographed 45rpm by husker du, whom i love but don't think i have seen on anyones collection wish list. i have more unautographed remnants of my hazy youth-real concert tshirts, ticket stubs, that kinda stuff. not a great deal of this but considering my lifestyle then (yes, little billy, lots and lots and lots of drugs) i dont know how i managed to hang on to any of it!

trying to sell my bob marley autographed "exodus" album and becoming interested in the competitive, strangely viscious and yet seemingly close-knit subculture of autograph collectors

good question! why do you collect? wait dont tell me-you try to replace the hole in your worthless soul with maybe a tiny iota of a bit of something from someone people seem to like admire whatever in the pathetic futile desperate hope that maybemaybe some spark of that magic will ignite you and by golly you will be loved! am i close?
