The Todd Mueller Autographs & Nelson Deedle/Iconographs Lawsuits

Autograph Magazine Live Legal Defense Fund

As AML's founder and manager, I've been wrongfully sued in 3 lawsuits by Todd Mueller Autographs, and Nelson Deedle and his company, Iconographs.

They are suing for defamation, and allege that I am part of a cartel, along with PSA/DNA, JSA and others, that is trying to put them out of business by calling their autographs forgeries.

None of this is true.

Read more about the Todd Mueller Autographs and Nelson Deedle/Iconographs lawsuits.

Members of AML save thousands of collectors every year from buying forgeries. I hope you're as proud of that as I am. But I've fought 7 similar lawsuits since 2011, and I can't cover the legal costs on my own. If you would like to contribute towards legal fees, I'd appreciate it.

Your contribution to the AML Legal Defense Fund will help save our 8 year-old community, so we can continue to educate collectors and protect them against forgeries for years to come.

Just donated a 20 spot.  Not working right now, so can't afford a lot.  However, will be sending another donation when I find employment.  What a great forum you have and everyone who can should support.  Best of luck Steve!

I would love for 200 of us to donate just $50.00.

The Todd Mueller lawsuit due to be tried on Oct. 27, 2017 was continued until January 26, 2018.

Members have been very generous. I have received defense fund contributions that have helped quite a bit in getting legal advice and things I need for the trial. I really appreciate it.

I haven't received enough to retain an attorney to try the case, which I think would easily be $50,000+ even at this point. But I feel that I can do it myself if I have to, and I'm OK with that.

Thank you all.

Well written, Timothy!!!

Many of us wrote similar comments earlier.

Even if only 1,000 members donated $5.00, what a difference that would make!!!!

There are over 10,000 Members on Autograph Live Magazine. If all the Members on here, pony up $5, Steve would have enough Money to fight this frivolous Lawsuit. You could probably find enough, if you lifted the cushions on your couch and chair, to send $5. If you like being a Member and having all the resources that are available here on ALM, just Donate $5 so that it can be here for you and any future Members. You think $5 can't make a difference, Donate it, so the Website can continue to Help Collectors. Everyone on here has received much more than $5 worth of Opinions, guidance, studies and useful information, not to mention being able to Buy and Sale for Free. $5 can make a Difference!!

Before i leave this forum, to the owner of this website:

I understand that you are being drawn in a law suit to the point you don't have funds and you need to represent yourself.

I might suck at this hobby, but it is ok because my time as a professional programmer is worth more than me trying to learn this game. I am also an investor in early stage startups and in the stock market.

Thanks god, today i made more money in one day, than loosing from my 2 months experience as an "autograph collector".

I have 2 proposals for you:

1) I help invest in your law suit if you can convince me that its going to be beneficial (financially) for me. too.

2) I can build you an auction site like rrauctions, in which we get commission on all sales.

My number is: (747) - 229 7832.

Thanks,

Ilan Alon

There is a well established business model of providing a free lower entry product, with a paid fee for a more advanced/professional productu

and of course there is advertising

It would be great if we could get 100 members to donate $100.00 each.

I agree, this place is to good to be free. Especially now when this site is a big reason for the situation Steve's in.

Although I also agree that it's the authencity part of AML that saves member money, I see difficulties with putting a fee on each "is it real" thread. What if you don't get an answer, should you get a refund then?

I'm more thinking about a membership fee. Give us several options, for exempel a yearly fee for members like me, who doesn't have a life and loggs in every day ;-) and then a falling scale (half year, month) down to a weekly fee for the many members who has one item they ask about and then never returns.

A low fee for all options of course, when we are so many it will still add up to a nice sum to help Steve out! :-)

Let's say one year $50, half year $30, a month $20 and a week $10. That price range encourages and rewards long time / active members which I think is fair.

Thoughts?

Thinking out loud here, bear with me. Steve, have you ever thought about a monthly or annual fee for members of autograph live? I know the advice given and received here is worth something, especially for novices. At least for the authenticity opinion threads, which is essentially free authentication. Its nice that it's free (while unofficial, I suppose) but I, for one, am not opposed for paying a nominal fee for access to the brilliant minds at work here :)

On another note, how do you (and others in this community) feel about name-dropping AML in the marketplace? As a some times EBay seller, it could be beneficial to me and buyers to direct people here for opinions, while at the same time raise awareness in general on EBay to possibly combat the insane amount of fraudulent activity taking place there daily.

I realize that this could potentially drive folks away from professional opinions, but if you're like me, you enjoy the learning process and wouldn't pay a third party anyway.

Just thoughts. Not trying to ruffle any feathers, just thinking out loud.

Cheers,
