After Lauritz's death in 1973, Ib inherited his father's extensive collection of autographs and manuscripts and continued to add to it. The collection includes signatures, signed photos, letters, and other ephemera from famous movie stars, literary figures, composers, musicians and notable politicians.

I have the great pleasure of selling off the collection of Science Fiction film maker and author, Ib Melchior. His father, renowned opera star, Lauritz Melchior had been collecting autographs for years.

What is your favorite autograph in your collection?

I've seen amazing autographs from this collection from Geronimo to Cher. The fact that there are thousands is truly amazing.
