The 50's would have been the time if any that Elvis would sign in pencil which was rare and only used if nothing else was around. I wouldn't buy it. Neither signature looks good to me. I'm just a collector though, not an expert. The Elvis is really off just about everywhere. That's my two cents.

thanks for your thoughts on this, the bill was actually signed in ink not pencil,i had it at sun studios in memphis when we were there for the beale street music festival 2 people thought it was real real 1 didn't know .i've compared these signatures with the real ones that i know of, they look real. but i'm not a collector so if you know anything at all about these matters,you know more than me. i appreciate your input.   thanks   frank

Oh haha. So it is. I've seen a few legit Elvis signatures on paper money and plenty of auto's from the late 50's and it doesn't match up at all with any of those or anything in my collection. I can't really tell the Johnny Cash signature because it's in a darker area but I would assume if one is fake, they probably weren't signed together like the story then. You should add a picture right to this post so that anyone clicking on this can readily see it and give their opinion. It's a definite no from me though. Sorry.

yes i've heard nothing but great things about roger so i would respect whatever he has to say. i'm not a collector  and surely know nothing abut signatures like this,but i've had this for years and i decided to try and find out if it is authentic or not. i guess from what it sounds it's not authentic,life goes on..  thanks again  frank
