PSA Grades Counterfeit 2000-01 Kobe Bryant UD Ovation Card

Immediately below are links to previous threads on forged/counterfeit Kobe Bryant "2000-01 Ovation" cards.

People are continuing to emotionally impulsive buy Kobe Bryant forgeries on Ebay.

I find all of this disgusting.

For the last two years I've been exposing the various counterfeit/forged cards (Kobe Bryant, Derek Jeter, Willie Mays, Sandy Koufax, Johnny Unitas, Bart Starr and others).

Here is another counterfeit and forged Kobe Bryant "200-01 Upper Deck Ovation" card.

Unfortunately, in this instance, PSA graded a counterfeit card.

Please note that they did not authenticate the autograph.

The autograph is, of course, a forgery.

This isn't the first time that PSA has graded one of these forged/counterfeit cards.

Below is a photo of forged/counterfeit Sandy Koufax "2000 SP Authentic" card graded by PSA.

Below is the forged/counterfeit Kobe Bryant "2000-01 Ovation" card graded by PSA.

Why isn't PSA catching these cards during examination?

I'll tell you why--Because since these cards are pack-pulled, they are not examining them.

This is sloppy and unacceptable.

The bidding on this card is over $1,000.00.

Someone is going to waste over $1,000.00 for a worthless piece of cardboard.

Below is a side-by-side comparison.

People are fooled by the fact that because the card is "slabbed," the autograph must be authentic.

It's unfortunate that stuff like this sells because people buy the COA/Slab and not the autograph.

With Ebay so heavily-populated with delusional autograph collectors and impulse buyers, selling forgeries is actually easier than selling authentic autographs.

The selling of forgeries is a huge industry on Ebay.

The one on the right is an example of an authentic Kobe autograph on a original Ovation card.

PSA really needs to pay attention to the hobby they're in. Total amateur hour.

BC, I have emailed PSA about these various forged/counterfeit cards and they still miss them. Very sloppy.
