<p>I would argue that standard presidential signatures are actually more valuable if you can find them from before the person was running, while still using their same signature.</p>
<p>When they're president, or even running for president, a lot of people want their signature. So while their president and after, they're going to get a lot more requests than before.</p>
<p>But how many autographs do you think Georgia gubernatorial candidate Jimmy Carter signed? Or Arkansas gubernatorial…</p>

<p>Speaking personally, if I were to buy a Barack Obama autograph, I'd much rather get one from when he was campaigning for US Senator or before. It's a piece of history that also shows an incredible foresight on the part of the person that got it. It's a personal, sentimental thing (even if it's not originally my sentiment), which is why I collect in the first place.</p>
