Love the title (One Brief Signing Moment.) It will be a pleasure to read your stories, long or short - if they don't arrive soon I'll have to check into it.
Yes, very down to earth. I feared they might be slightly contemptuous of "silly fans," or denigrating about fame for something they did so long ago, but not a bit. The main feeling I got from "Spin and Marty," as well as *all* the Mouseketeers, was that they fully appreciated all the Mickey Mouse Club had brought to them, and meant in their lives, and they were simply grateful and felt privileged to be remembered so fondly. And it was wonderful to be around that.
And they still looked wonderful, and were such lovely guys. I was inspired to post that cover picture of them with Annette in 1958 - and then the one with me in 2010! Talk about nostalgia. I'm sure they get this all the time but they couldn't have been nicer or more natural, and understanding. What sweeties.
Hi Julie, I ordered all three of the issues with your Mouseketeer pieces in them, but have not received them yet. I'm so tickled you liked my blog - it still makes me smile to see the picture of ME standing between "Spin and Marty"! Talk about a dream come true!
I do live in California, Julie. I had a difficult time joining this site - it kept telling me my zip code was invalid! I tried other zip codes, but no use. So I just said the heck with it and put down that I lived in the UK, no zip code necessary. Well, I've visited there 25 times so it's not a complete lie! :-)
Which issues are your other Mouseketeer stories in? Are they long and with pictures, enough to recommend my ordering them too?
Oh, I'm so glad you saw my Mouseketeer write-up, Julie! It was stupid of me not to get your email address when we were there, I had to join this site. But now I've found you, and I've also ordered a copy of the issue of the magazine with your Mouseketeer story. It was great to meet you, and wasn't it a wonderful occasion! Thank you for taking such terrific pictures. I treasure them.
Thanks Julie, I have a few of those frames you are talking about. I will tell you though if you dont have room to hang them right away. If you stack them or lean them on each oth they damage the frame with scratches because of the way they are made. I am trying to figure out a way to dispolay them w/o all frames because I have too many. I am thinking of something like shelves on walls and putting the lps side by side running along a whole wall that way I can display many LPs at one time. Thanks for your coment on my page as well as adding your story to my blog! Until Next time KEEP GRAPHIN!!!!!!
