Why do some older stars autographs lose their value? Is it a generational thing?

Easiest answer is once they are out of the limelight for a while there is no longer the interest in them. Younger collectors don't even know most of them. Except for the really big names, actors and musicians fade pretty quickly. I have a few extra autographs of some of the rock gods but as far as lesser acts, I only buy what I enjoy.

Who do you consider an older star?
