Hello,

Just signed up to this forum to hope to have some opinions on these autographs I have just inherited.

I have sent them off to numinous auctions houses in the U.k and america to hopefully sell there but thought I would ask for your thoughts too.

They are stuck down and have film over them, I'm guessing my grandad did this to prevent them fading if they were on show.

 They are :

- George Harrison

- John Lennon & Paul McCartney

- Group of The Beatles.

Look forward to your opinions on them and would any one recommenced a auction house to sell them through ? as I have no use for them.

Many thanks once again,

Nathan.

Those are beautiful autographs, Nathan. No question that they're authentic in my opinion...but of course, you know they're real. The adhesive will hurt the value, but I don't know by how much. I'd discuss them with rrauction.com, Perry Cox (who would sell them for you on eBay) and names other members here will suggest and decide how to go from there.

Hello Steve,

Thank you for very much for your response, its appreciated.

I got told about RR Auctions and I've sent an email to them, so just waiting on a response now and see what they think.

I haven't heard of Perry Cox so I'll have a look now and send a email and see what response I get.

Once again thank you very much for your response Steve,

Nathan.

Hi Nathan,

Happy to help. Others will pitch in, too. You have lots of options.

I agree with Steve that these are really nice. It appears as though they might not be adhered to the film, which would obviously be a good thing.

Thank you for your response.

I don't know if the film would come away, I don't think I would dare to try to be honest.

I would have to leave that to some one else.

Nathan, there are experts in paper restoration who will be able to look at your autographs in person and tell you if the film can be safely removed. I haven't dealt with them, so I don't want to recommend one, but we should be able to point you in the right direction. The difference in what you will get for autograph will be substantial, if the autographs are not truly adhered to the film. So it is worth considering.

Thanks again for the response Steve, I've never come across them so I wouldn't know where to start if I'm honest with this one.

Would these people be based in the U.K or America ?

Nathan,

I didn't realize you were in the UK. I should have checked. The paper restorers I'm aware of are in the U.S., but there's a dealer in the UK that should be your first stop, Tracks: tracks.co.uk They are one of the most respected Beatles dealers in the world. I'm not sure when they're holding an auction again or if they'll take your autographs on consignment or only buy outright--but that's the place to start.

They should be able to tell you if the autographs are adhered to the film and give you options on how to sell them. You certainly can get offers and opinions after them, but talk to them first.

Hi Nathan,  - my view from England!!!    If you want to get the best price for them put them into an auction here with either Christies, Bonhams or Derweatts and Bloomsbury.  I would certainly talk to Tracks and find out when their next general auction is but IMO  I wouldn't sell them outright to them because you want to get the best price for yourself in an auction.  Each of the 3 major English auction houses I have mentioned have pros and cons if you consign with them; - but the one with the most efficient PR system is Bonhams in Knightsbridge.

Hello Michelle,

Thank you very much for your response, I've found at that I only live around 30minutes away from Tracks, so I've emailed them to go down and speak to them first and I think I will take it from there.

I remember my Grandad selling his Busby Babes memorabilia through Bonham's and he never had a problem also with Christie's too.

I just look forward to hopefully selling them and they are going to a home where they will be appreciated.

Thanks again.

Boy, that would be great if they were not, Ballroom. I wasn't sure, but I couldn't figure how they could make it stick to the album otherwise.

They look OK to me...nice and dark...
