I was offered this today. Charles Feeney National League ball (1970-1986). Random Dodger stars and HOF players. The ones I am familiar with are good. Lasorda, Snoder, Wills, Tommy Davis.. to name a few. All solid. Then I see a beautiful Roy Campanella. Which took me off guard. The ball dodn't exist pre accident. But it's clean autograph. Is that possible? Provenance is solid. Collextion was purchased from the family of an avid in person collector. (1970s and 80s). I have purchased many items from the collection. All were solid (some I posted here). Is there a chance this Campanella is legit?

Thanks for any insight.

They offered me this Maris also. What are your thoughts?

No way on both.

Thanks guys. I didn't have a good feeling about either. I'm disappointed because it was represented to me that both these balls came from a specific collection which they know I have purchased items from before. I don't think they did come from that collection. They didn't show either to me in the past year, even though these would have been two of the more desirable (if real) in the collection and they know I'd be interested. Trust just doesn't exist in this hobby.

trust is a kiss of death in this hobby.  It's all about the signature.  The Maris is truly horrible.

Thanks. The Maris looked way off to me as well. I have purchased many items from this shop. Part of me wanted to be wrong. But you and Christopher confirmed what I suspected.

That might possibly be the worst forged Maris of all time. Unless there's a pre-K class somewhere that has a "Forge a Roger Maris Signature Day". lol

Make him an offer he can't refuse for both. This:

Lol

McMullen and Campanella obviously both signed by the same hand. Forgers with limited skills should quit while only behind a little. lol

What is strange is some of the autographs were legit. The Snider was good. So was the Lasorda. I'm very familiar with those. It seems somebody took a relatively inexpensive ball with some autographs and decided wo juice it up with some forgeries. I should have taken more pictures.
