Hello friends,

What do you think about this one?

For me it looks good. (Sorry, no better picture)

Thank you

Andreas

Very authentic. Would say signed around the time the photo was shot in 1984

Thanks Seamus,

Same picture, a little bit better:

Hi Andreas, I saw that last time it closed w/o bid. I passed.

Were you ever able to get a better scan of that (I believe) 5x7 that had the apparent facsimile signature? Many thought it good but I am not so sure it is hand signed. I have one sent from DG and it is not hand signed but some sort of contrivance. It also has an uncomfortably matching inscription. If you can make a high resolution scan it would be great.

And another. I have found several of these 5x7 that have way too much in common at the inscription:

Is the item listed for sale? Did you pass due to authenticity concerns? I'd buy it in a heartbeat at the right price.

Hello, yes, it is listed on eBay for about 225. Yes, I passed - I have become extremely wary of Gilmour signatures from the things we were talking about last (shown here) and this current SP with teal sig also reminded me of that ALOR(?) promo in a way. I was just not comfortable with it.

Have you noticed the other items from seller? "Homemade" 8x10 prints it appears, for movies with title added etc like those One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Moonraker, Sleepy Hollow or others. I also noticed 31 other 13x18cm stills, some with odd or uneven edges, some with none, under sellers International Sales. I am not that familiar with 5x7 versions of these promos and wonder if they are indeed original. I do not know. John Shaw would likely know if there were 5x7's of these.

John suggested these might be European promos and I have seen some 5x7's from Sweden etc, but those have Swedish EMI and label info/text. I am running out the door or I would look for more.

as i said to erik ive never seen 5 x 7 promos in the united states,

if there real there european.  the reason we use 8 x 10 is becuase when u shipped a bio and photo it fit perfectly in a envelope and we didnt fold them.

only a person who worked in a european lable and i would target a publicist from a lable could answer that

also try finding old auction results from london christies and bonhams and sothebys and see what was signed and size.

I'm confused - Are we looking to verify authenticity through the size of photos?

I've owned multiple Floyd signed 5x7s. This one is a no doubter.

No, no, Seamus, we are not discussing authenticity through size. You had asked me if I thought that Gilmour photo w teal signature was an original promo and I said yes, then I was not so sure as the seller has 31 other 13x18cm photos for sale along with those homemade 8x10's as mentioned. Original promotional photographs are much more desirable than copy prints to some, so I wanted to check what I had said and asked John about the size. His suggestion led me to the Swedish promos that I mentioned that are indeed 5x7 (with Swedish text).

Got it. Well, put my money where my mouth was again and bought it.

Still a live listing here? Good luck w/it :)
