Heath Ledger Signed Cut

I am looking at buying this signed cut from a dealer on Facebook.  He has a long and upstanding reputation, and says that he got this signature in person when filming a movie with Heath around 2001 (confirmed via imdb).  It is on a 4x6 card and is currently matted and framed.  I did a quick opinion via acoa and everyone liked it, but the more eyes on it the better. Please let me know what you think, as this is obviously not a cheap item.  Thanks.

Interesting. Don't know much about Ledger's signature. Not want ti hijack this discussion although would like some input on this signed photo as well.

Interesting, I didn't know there was a new authentication service. Good group of "top tier" experts. Very reasonable prices.

I don't understand why there aren't more authentication niche services similar to Phil Sears, etc. There are members here so good in specific areas that I trust their word above any corporate authentication service. And would gladly pay a reasonable fee for their opinion. Seems like a golden opportunity for those who have paid their dues and have earned the respect.

Honestly, if someone is good at what they do then that should not be a big issue. Maybe just a quick opinion service with a disclaimer. Personally, I wouldn't need a fancy paper. Just want to know if the autograph is, with the highest degree possible, authentic. Certificates, in the end, are meaningless. Most of the top sellers don't even include anything with their autographs except a written guarantee return policy. I wouldn't want anyone to purchase an autograph from me strictly because it has a "xyz certificate".

This item was submitted using our Fast Opinion service which offers up to 5 experts and a conclusion must be made within 24 hours. It was indeed reviewed by 5 experts independently within 24 hours, 100% of which passed the item, and 3 whom have obtained autographs many times in person from Heath Ledger directly, so their opinions were formed not only by comparison to our extensive Heath Ledger sample pool or just to samples found online, but also by their own personal pool of samples obtained directly.

A full authentication submission would be even more extensive, reviewed by up to twice as many team members. Any member who finds a fault in a submission is required to note the specific factor, which then opens a discussion of those factors for the entire team to re-review before a final, official conclusion is made. 

As I recently mentioned to Jason via PM, if this piece was submitted for full authentication, it could have been potentially flagged for various factors that were disliked (for instance, Pete would have seen it and and noted his factors), and a deep discussion would have then opened up amongst the team, and those can remain open for up to a week, if necessary. Unfortunately, that's a lot of work to conduct for a $5 Fast Opinion submission.

My opinion, after studying this item for 27.5 minutes precisely, is that the item looks pretty good. But we setup the ACOA service in a way that taps into as many experts per item as possible, for good reason. I did not see this piece prior to this post, but I have seen the piece that I believe it was copied from. I am available to the ACOA whenever they choose to contact me, but that does not mean they will ask me about everything.

These guys are authenticators, I am merely a guy that offers the same service that I do for my friends here.

Authentication is a business not based on science, but opinions, and opinions differ based on the knowledge one has on the subject.
