hopefully others will comment

Rick may be right that TPA's won't have many examples on file. It's not like people were chasing him to ask for an autograph haha

Now I'm curious how many are known to exist

Just in the last couple of weeks I have been doing some research I am guessing under 10 have come to market.  I am sure there have been variations in his signature over the years.  This one I am going to continue to research.  It just has that feel.

makes perfect sense

if you own it, you want to know

you could email a few TPA's and ask them how well they know Dillinger.

you could even ask Epperson if he knows or he could lead you to someone who does know

but from what I've seen, his signature and handwriting remained quite consistent

Post a comment on Herman Darvick's profile with a link to this discussion, saying you'd appreciate his opinion on it.

Thnx Steve.. I sent him a note

please let us know what Herman says

Not authentic, IMO. I would be completely shocked it this was to pass any bona fide authentication service.

It may have "that feel" as Brian says, but to me it has "that look", and that is a very different thing.

and what does "that look" translate into?

Hi Shawn,

It is a term I have used before. It's not "scientific". "That look" = a strange, odd sig, sometimes crudely cut, often crudely signed, sometimes 5 sided, often in pencil, sometimes with something "off" with its appearance of age, undedicated/uninscribed and "loose" - not appearing as from a letter.

ah ok thx

I ask because sometimes it can have positive connotations as well.

Ah like "the look, the feel, of cotton" ;)
