Here's me disagreeing with the TPA's again. Up for bid in the latest RR Auction is a signed Gilmour / Waters album. From what I've been told, the Gilmour alone sold on eBay 5-10 years ago for very cheap. And later Roger signed it. Wanted to let people know that in my opinion, there is nothing right with the Gilmour and unfortunately Roger had to sign a forgery.

Please AVOID if looking at this.

It is odd that the person doing this copy would choose to condense the names in this context, placing the last "d" in "David" well inside the "G" - so not a copy of this item below but of this style IMO. If this, the OP, were by Gilmour, the name would be spread out as space allowed, what Christopher was saying, as can be seen on some other vintage items. The person creating the copy was aware Gilmour does this, but chose to do it in a strange place.

The example Corey posted, enlarged:

thx for the enlargement Eric

It's much easier to compare and contrast now.

Anyone know who the forgerer is?

Condensing the names for no reason to the highly unusual small size of the OP seems counter-intuitive, but perhaps revealing. There are other things to note. Here is a vintage DG with room:

And here is the OP - note the size and spacing in relation to the LP etc. The solo LP (David Gilmour, 1978) shown above is 12 inches wide as the OP Wall LP. Not a hard rule, but perhaps a useful observation.

Other than size (perhaps fear-related), one thing that I see is the odd recovery from the pen lift at the "l" and the following execution of the "i (dot)-mour". It is not relaxed or comfortable.

To add: The hand appears light but also uncertain/confused, esp after the pen lift.

Great job Seamus.my opinion its not gonna be easy at all to have RR take it down.Steve Grad already wrote a letter on it.Being that RR and Beckett are working together, they might side with Steves opinion because they would have to.

what a terrible waste of a good Waters signed LP

may as well add Nick, Rick and Syd now and go for broke

Item currently is at @ 350. An authentic one signed by both should yield around 3000.

We will see

I've not heard anything back - I was supposed to. I also noted the price which often says a lot. Good work either way Seamus.

the price doesn't mean anything as the auction has 2 weeks left

Hence the we will see.
