Hi All!

New member to the forums and a newer collector of autographed memorabilia in general. Was looking to pick up a Joe Montana autographed helmet and saw this gem signed by a few on the team. However, compared to other Montana autographs I've seen, this one looks a bit peculiar (even though it's "authenticated"). Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I share your concern.  compare it to the UDA example:

Is there a date anywhere on that COA for the UDA signed helmet? If there is, I don't see it. May be too small for me to perceive. The link for the ebay listing with the BIN of $425; that looks good to me, as does the link you posted, but the top one an older signature. I've seen that particular form of JM signature backed by strong COAs.

I think you are correct.  the J concerned me, but in looking at several other examples, I did see similar shaped J's in authentic examples.

At first glance before reading on or looking at posted UDA example, the Montana looks good to me from what I've always seen and use to getting in the past, IMO.

Here's one of my last ones obtained from Joe years back on a mini.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! So found the looks of it, It seems like the signatures I was looking at in comparison were some of his older stuff and it looks like JM has adopted a newer style of signature sometime during or after his career. Thanks again for all the input. I'll take a look around some more and purchase one!
