Adolf Hitler Autograph Discussion: Should we allow them here?

Hi guys. I bought an autograph about 10 years ago, made by Adolf Hitler in 1935 in Munich on a postcard and I'm thinking about selling. Does anyone have a clue if it is genuine? Have mailed around questions to different pages but get no good answers. / Marcus

Might I add...

It doesn't matter that it's Hitler or anyone else. The true point is about censorship. Once it starts, then it just snowballs into all sorts of categories that offend people.

People are mature enough on here to understand censorship laws throughout time.

This is a place for signatures and leave it at that. No one can tell another what to like or dislike.

For example... are we going to censor Rap singers w/ a gangster past and affiliations?

As Rick pointed out... Dillinger and other mobsters have been freely discussed here. Who wants to own or discuss them is not anyone's business.

Are we going to censor gays and lesbians? Or censor animal trophy hunters? Or censor superstars who have been proven wife beaters? Could we censor Muslim, Islam, Christian or other religious persona's who have created mass destructions in the name of their god? And the list grows and grows.....

Let it be is my vote.

That's ironic that you bring up censorship considering that Hitler and his Nazis were burning books. If we try to repress discussion about him here on some topic of autographs, I think it is no different than what he did to his people in some way.

Since this is an autograph forum that’s what we do, we discuss autographs and just autographs!! As long that’s the rule, I think we should be allowed to discuss all autographs on AML!

For me as a history teacher WW2 autographs are of great interest.

If someone doesn’t like a thread like this, don’t read it...

I feel the same way too - even if it is bad/questionable people. Nobody here is promoting their deeds, as far as I know. Until that happens, I don't think we should try to remove discussion of people's autograph who have a bad/questionable place in history.

For me there is the question where do you draw the line? There are so many graphs discussesed in this forum from people who took others peoples life that I ask myself what points out to be a graph not allowed here. If you let people discuss OJ Simpsons graphs it is ok? Seriel killer like Bundy or Manson also Ok? Breviak? Hm, he killed to many not ok? What about state leaders? What about US Presidents who have blood of innocent people on their hands like commanding the bomb drop of Nagasaki and Hiroshima? I think it should be allowed to discuss every graph what should not be allowed are discussions about the people who wrote them.

good addition my friend

and this quote from you is paramount...

"I think it should be allowed to discuss every graph... what should not be allowed are discussions about the people who wrote them". I understand your point here.

Capital comment

PS... I would like to censor Mickey Mantle signatures. I see them everyday on here ;)  LOL   Jokn friends

If we censor Mickey Mantle we'd lose half the forum. A large percentage of the board own atleast one of him plus all of Chris Williams uninvited EBAY friends own a cheap knock off.

LMAO

There is a more important issue than Hitler's autograph in this discussion.

There is only one vote that matters in what is allowed to be discussed on this site. Steve's.

Mr. Cyrkin, thank-you for this site. I appreciate the value it brings to enlighten collector's knowledge on autograph authenticity. You have every right to decide what is allowed or not.

It's also important that Steve asked for our opinions
