We now have a Musician-Direct Autograph Sales Forum where you can post individual discussions of new offerings. It's a big change—and a big improvement. We closed this discussion after 8 years but it will always be available to read.

The new system has been in place for 2 months now and it's working well.

This video shows you how easy the new forum is to use.

You can follow the forum and be notified of new signings exclusively! And you can enter a musician's name in the forum's search box and find any discussions about them.

Be sure to click the Follow link at the bottom of the list of discussions.

Try it...I think you'll like it.

Though I recall a member posting a blog asking about this a while ago, I could not relocate it for my purpose in this discussion.

It can be nice when one stumbles upon a musician's shop (via their website), to see that they are selling their autographs. I figured this could grow as a wee database for listing those musicians who partake in this.

I recently recieved a couple press photos signed in ballpoint from John Mayall's website (http://www.johnmayall.com/merch.html). I am also aware that you can purchase signed CDs from Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits(http://peternoone.com/store/). John 5 ( formerly Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie guitarist) sells various items signed, with an option to dedicate.

So, does anyone else know of this being done by other musicians?

Dang, figured that would happen though. Glad I passed on it. Can't seem to trust anything that comes from Universal. Especially when they have a famous artist and they don't sell out instantly.

I wonder if there's any chance these won't be autopen.

Think the eBay resellers are happy to gamble as already one there for £95

If you're talking about Nicki I was wondering that myself. I figure for the price I'll hope for the best! I know there's been a problem with her before with autopen, but maybe we'll get lucky!

One day everyone will learn their lesson about popstars.. in the meantime Rick Wakeman from YES has a new preorder with signed cds and vinyl on pledgemusic

I don't think it's entirely that bad. Halsey and Lorde signed tons of stuff for their preorders - all authentic (and nice). Florence too, and she's notoriously difficult. Some big names (and egos) have in recent years as well, including Gwen Stefani, Lady Gaga, The 1975, etc. It's not quite the abyss that country music seems to be.

In the case of Nicki, she already has a notorious bad track record and UMG at the helm makes this a huge risk.

She did a meet & greet yesterday at a Sprint store in NYC to promote her new album.  Footage showed her signing.  I know it doesnt mean squat, but there is a chance.

Personally, I would be surprised if Nicki and Co. didnt learn the first time around. The lithos do say extremely limited qty., so Im rolling the bones and hoping for the best here. More and more artists are seeing big boosts in album sales by bundling signed items - and its such a small sacrifice of time for the artist to make a meaningful connection. And believe you me, if I get an autopen, Ill be sure to let Nicki and Co. know on all of her social media feeds, etc. lol

Also, I tend to take risks, always have. At 15 bones, I can always hang it in the garage and admire her bountiful talent, lol

I have to think if they were actually limited to any extent, they'd be long gone by now. The fact that they're still available is another not-so-good sign.

I would concur despite web site saying "extremely limited".

Yes, its all about your individual tolerance for risk in the end. I dont blame anyone for passing on these given the past, but I just think its incredibly counter-productive to bait people with signed items only to screw them over.

Any respectable artist/mngt team would set a number and a time to fulfill what is being offered. And yes, you would think that it would never happen in the first place, but people make mistakes all the time.

Having been busted once, I think you say no signed items at all (i dont have the time or desire to do that)  OR an agreed upon amount of signed items and a time to do it - which it seems they are doing.

We shall see.
