Thanks for having a look, Eric. Its important to remember guys, this is a glossy photo. Anyone can easily erase the signature over and over and try again if they wish. In cases like this, flow is very important. Is the item signed with a confident flow? No. There's a difference between lack of confidence and being rushed. This item is not rushed.

Thanks for explaining Innuendo, much appreciated!

No problem, my friend. I'm always happy to help.

Hi all,

I remember this item being sold by Mark Riddle UACC Dealer "Memorabilia UK". I've purchased many autographs from him before and in my opinion he is a great guy to deal with, so if this freddie is not genuine he is definitely unaware. This item can be seen in the archive section of his website. It had a dedication removal and here was the information with the item.

The signed photograph was obtained by (Robert) a security guard at the Dominion Theatre London in 1987. He helped Freddie Mercury with an Aids Benefit Performance for the musical "Time" which ran in the West End between 1986-88. The promo-photograph we believe is for the Barcelona duet he did with opera-singer Montserrat Caballe released in October 1987. It was originally dedicated to Robert's wife Ann. The dedication has been professionally removed (See Images Included). There is a typed letter from Ann included detailing further the provenance.

Ive added the pictures from the website below...

I had to tell mr riddle he was selling a Joan Crawford secretarial. He had to agree with me.

I still think its real

I'll leave it to innuendo to argue the point from here as I will keep repeating myself.

Don't be fooled by PSA or UACC. If you put too much trust in other people you will eventually trip up. Educate yourself to see beyond the signature. Learn how to look.

Thanks for that info Rob. Unfortunately the item is not genuine. One bad item does not a poor seller make. It's worth noting that this item has been discussed between Queen collectors in the past. Most recently with Giancarlo. Very confident it's not genuine. Best

I have purchased from Mark in the past and will say he is an honest person. I don't know Freddie's autograph well enough to have an opinion on it. I can say that no one is perfect.

No one is pointing the finger. Mistakes happen to the best. You have to remember that UACC dealers are retailers and not necessarily expert authenticators, if that makes sense. Authentication is a full time job and skills needs to be updated. I've learnt to be my own expert.

Absolutely. I'm sure Joe knows what we mean, Michael. As I mentioned above, one bad item does not a bad seller make. I think it's safe to say we've all been burned before. It's a reality of the hobby. I don't feel one bad item among many great items effects a sellers rep in the slightest. Makes you human. Thanks fellas

TMy thoughts exactly. I'm learning all the time. That's the reason I visit this forum. Knowledge is king.
