Awhile back I purchased a Rolling Stones newspaper. It was OKed by Roger Epperson before I purchased it. I didn't see, nor can I now see, there was any problems with it. I matted the paper and eventually offered it for sale on eBay where it was pulled by them.

I have since found out that this item sold on eBay in the past without a problem.

Yesterday, I received information from a member on this site who noticed this in a previous discussion and was informed by them that this is a known forgery style.

To also be fair, I have seen an email where Roger Epperson again(today) responded this set of signatures looks fine. Also, I have in my possession a ticket to the event on the same date as the newspaper, attendance wristbands for the event, and photo of the event site and inside during the concert.

I simply would appreciate to figure out if these signatures are, indeed, genuine or do they appear suspect. I both love and dislike a challenge and this is one to me. Appreciate any and all thoughtful responses.

Thank-you.

No, not everyone. I just showed a few people who know Stones.

Did you note the source of your newspaper when you purchased it? And who was it on AML that found the LP with the matching signatures? Where was that one from?

Mainly I'm curious to see what else they are selling.

The newspaper, wristbands, ticket, and photos came as a bundle. Not purchased from a dealer but a member here. No names will be given publicly or privately.

Why's that?

I posted the discussion about the stones black and blue lp on september the 6th, it was offered for sale to me not on this website or a member but from a friend. I received positive comments on that discussion plus I asked roger before buying and he said they were fine in his opinion also & now this has all blown up, I wish I had this help originally when I posted the discussion on the 6th, must dash im gonna jump off london bridge gotta get a bus quick haha

This is real and same period...

And this set looks nothing like the set pictured in the OP.  I am absolutely convinced the ones in the OP are not authentic.

Ron wood looks similar but no one else for sure

I think real... Why a forger could make a fake in a signed "China page" ???? It's a crazy thing... No???

  1. The more strange signatures in this set are keith richards...

It is obvious from the wide variances of opinions from respected members here. This set of signatures are tainted enough that no reasonable person, which I hope I am, could not possibly offer this set for sale with a clear conscience.

With that said, should anyone desire to make a private offer to trade for this item just message me. Bad news, it is less than dead ringer signatures. Good news, it the Rolling Stones and it appears that Roger Epperson will provide papers based on two separate quick opinions.

Thanks everyone. I do believe we all seek the same objective. Truth.

It looked good at first glance, but in spending more time on the signatures and taking the LP into account, I have to say that my opinion has changed. There does appear to be too many discrepancies. I think the newspaper was a good way to make potential buyers feel more comfortable with the signatures when combined with the other items. I think it’s just false provenance. Sorry, Joe.

Looks like the scales are tipping
