i’m looking for a Bob Dylan signature for my collection and wanted to know what you think of this? It’s autenticated by Jsa.

Thanks.

Thanks for your opinion Tim.

This one has already been discussed -- and most people thought it was authentic.  You posted a photo with the inscription cut out.  Here is the entire piece:

I didn’t realize. Thanks for letting me know.

would you have a link to the original discussion.  I have tried to locate to no avail.

I didn’t find it either.

I don't like it. Did they attempt to copy the one I've attached? For added discussion.

And if real at 1k very cheap

Ok guys I really appreciate your input on questionable autographs and it did save me some money on fakes over the years but how can someone seriously say legit or not legit to a not to old Bob Dylan autograph that is far from screaming total fake?

I mean how many known or proof legit autographs are out there to compare and how many of them vary completely from each other. Dylan is not known of being the most constant signer and he barely signes. How many autographs do exist in any databases who are 100% solid rock legit? I have just recently seen one I wouldn't spend a dime on and it wouldn't pass and TPA but I know it is real. Ron Dabitz offeres one for years now to a very very low price but it is atypical and just a scribble and it won't sell.

How many known foggerstyles are out there? Are there any points on a Dylan autograph you can tell it is from a known fogger?

What I actually want to say is when it comes to graphs like the one from Dylan that is a) very very rare and b) from a unconstant signer like Dylan it is more importend to know who is it from and may the story behind it is true then our opinions about it as I think none of you is able to say legit or not.

Provenance is one of the most important factors. Top dealers and top auction houses demand it. It's an expensive item. If there is no solid proof, then walk away.

I can't speak for other authenticators, but I have a reasonably sized IP sample database for Bob which is populated with graphs obtained as recently as last year. (And of course all of the official art print sigs, official harmonicas, official cds, etc.)

Bob is the only name I refuse to share IP samples of specifically because of his rarity. They can be a little outrageous looking, but generally even the crazy samples add perspective on what he does and doesn't do.

Regardless, most IP samples aren't too far off of what you see officially.

And most Bob forgeries are attempting to copy a sample or multiple samples that are available somewhere online. The OP CD above imo is copying that paper cut I've attached above. It sure looks strikingly similar, but not in a good way.

What do you think? Added it above for discussion.

Patrick1977,

As I said in the start of this thread I am looking for a signed Bob Dylan item.

you are refering to a signature that Ron Dabitz is selling. Didn’t know the name, but after some research I found that he is selling under the name RDautogramme. I found a Bob Dylan signature in his listing.

Is this the signature you are refering to? Do you believe this is authentic?

He is a dealer and IP hunter abd he told me he got it IP so yes I trust him and belive it is legit. He is also member here as well as a respected RACC seller.
