I can understand your frustration Darwin! In the beginning I had a hard time telling the difference between even the worst fakes and genuine ones since there are so many different styles Freddie used over the years.

We are a little hesitent to publicly give a way what makes a fake a fake because that could help the forgers, since we know they often brows forums like this. But the biggest tell for me is the whole part in between the ”M” and the ”y” in Mercury, the ”ercur” part. Looks to much like waves in the forgery if you understand what I mean!

But you choosed a lovely Freddie as comparision I must say... ;-)

I've been looking at Freddy for years and I'm still not positive if it's real until I hear what Innuendo has to say.

You can learn a lot here, from Innuendo and others. It's frustrating today, but hang around a bit and I think you'll find it fun and fascinating.

I've got about 500 genuine example photos from 1970-1991 for Freddie but the more I think about it, the more I think holding off right now is the best option. If I were to make that Queen study guide right now, it could help some forgers. I knew the fakes were going to flood the net after the movie but I didn't think it was going to be this intense. Items that were going for 500 2 months ago are selling for over a grand. A study guide may do more harm than good just this moment.
