Notorious eBay Seller Of Fakes Now Has Psa/Dna Stickers On Everything... What Gives?

Hi Everyone-

After ("allegedly") being burned by eBay Seller sportsnmore9999 on more than one occasion, I learned through this forum: (https://live.autographmagazine.com/main/search/search?q=sportsnmore...) that many had the same experience and that, rather than offering a misguided mix of genuine and counterfeit signed items, it appeared that this was ("allegedly") more like a straight-up factory of fakes, most being "certified" with a TD (Team Derek) hologram sticker, which this Forum has also deemed problematic:(https://live.autographmagazine.com/main/search/search?q=TD+hologram).

Now I find that their inventory has been streamlined (specifically signed rock/pop lp listings) and ALL are now ("allegedly") certified by PSA/DNA. The question here is, are we seeing an ("alleged") onslaught of counterfeit PSA/DNA stickers and certificates, or is someone at PSA/DNA ("allegedly") "on the take" here? Can a leopard really change it's spots?

Unfortunately, I could not verify any of these items through the PSA/DNA database, as none of the images posted are set so you can magnify the image enough to read the sticker numbers. Additionally, pics of the certification cards are labelled "Sample Only", deeming both the stickers and certificates useless in verifying the authenticity of the corresponding signed pieces.

For the record, I only buy signed lps, mainly because I find it harder to be tricked, unlike lp "flats" and photographs, which can easily be duplicated from genuinely signed originals. Some examples of current listings by this Seller can be seen below. Please see the following link to this Seller's listings page for this Seller's full inventory and share your thoughts.

Could you read the numbers on the stickers beyond the one you looked up?

I could only make out that one cert #. I looked at some of the subsequent cert #s in the database and compared the names to the seller’s listings.

Thanks, Ballroom. I missed that you said that. Which one could you read?

AE65036

Thanks. Which album?

Somewhere I saw this seller sold 1.8 million or some crazy number of forgeries. You don’t think this type of volume isn’t in all the TPAs radar? That’s enough money to get PSA to hack off on this garbage. If not Beckett will. Look at the junk they authenticated for Press Pass. One was a copy of one of my signatures discussed here on AML(David Gilmour). Steve Grad certed it and cashes his check. These are not accidents. These are intentional.

All of the unspecialized third-party authenticators make too many mistakes whether honest ones or not.

But just like every TPA has a responsibility to authenticate carefully, honestly and without bias, we have a responsibility to put our biases aside and look at things honestly and throughly—whether that's one autograph or the entire company. It harms collectors, and the effectiveness of Autograph Live, when we don't.

I went through all the autographs on eBay from Sportsnmore9999, 295 of them. All but a few were represented as being certified by PSA/DNA or Beckett. Here's a link to the listings:

https://www.ebay.com/sch/Entertainment-Memorabilia/45100/m.html?_ss...

I had only seen the 10 in the OP, which I thought were all obvious forgeries with fuzzy photos and unreadable PSA stickers. I didn't know what to think when I reviewed all their listings.

These are my observations:

It's only my opinion, but the vast majority of listings were for autographs that I thought were obvious forgeries. All but a few of the 295 listings were small, blurry photos with unreadable stickers and no separate sticker image. All but a few had sample COAs. None of their listings state the COA's certification number in the title or body copy. There was even a baseball with the image taken with a Beckett COA—the back of it and the number is on the front.

These are the ones with readable stickers. The images are larger and crisper, and the sticker is often shown in a separate image:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/NICE-Robert-Englund-NIGHTMARE-ON-ELM-STREE... readable sticker, crisp large photos

https://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-Mike-Love-THE-BEACH-BOYS-Signed-MLB-B... shows beckett number on sticker

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Amazing-POST-MALONE-Signed-Autographed-Mic... readable sticker, crisp large photos

https://www.ebay.com/itm/JEFF-GORDON-Signed-24-2004-PEPSI-DUPONT-MO... readable sticker, crisp large photos

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Trey-Anastasio-PHISH-Signed-Autographed-Mi.... readable sticker, crisp large photos/p>

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Tony-Orlando-Signed-Autographed-Official-M...  readable sticker, crisp large photos, separate sticker pic

Then you had things like these, which may have a second image or something else odd but no readable number:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Sylvester-Stallone-ROCKY-Signed-Autographe...  2 images no sticker

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mike-Love-THE-BEACH-BOYS-Autographed-Offic... cert reversed, no number in copy

We have to ask ourselves:

Why would 9 out of 295 images be larger with clearly readable stickers when the other 286 listings have blurry photos with unreadable stickers?

(I clicked on about 20 where the listing photos were blurry and unreadable, and since all the larger photos were blurry as well, I assumed that none of other the larger images had readable cert numbers.)

Why aren't the COA numbers stated in the listings?

Sorry, the system is removing all the spaces between lines after the first ones. I'll try to fix.

Why would 9 out of 295 images be larger with clearly readable stickers when the other 286 listings have blurry photos with unreadable stickers?

In looking through the PSA/DNA database at cert #s subsequent to AE65036, I believe that Rick's answer to that question is correct. Here's his answer:

I think the stickers are legit but bad photos.

The seller has offered signed Funko Pop boxes that match entries in the PSA/DNA database. For example, cert #AE65050 is a Megan Boone signed Funko Pop box.

AE65051 is Kevin Eastman
