Another try for SIMON AND GARFUNKEL for an attempt to get it authenticated

Looking to try and get this SIMON AND GARFUNKEL album authenticated and I'd like to see if it has the possibility of passing before I try.

I posted this album a while back but only got one or two comments about it and those comments were for Garfunkel and none for Simon.

I have read that it is more uncommon than it is common to find an item with both of their signatures together.  That and I have also read that Paul Simon, later in his career, did not like to sign Simon and Garfunkel items but preferred to sign his solo work instead.

Looking for opinions as to the possible authenticity of these two signatures.

Joseph, anything is possible, but in my opinion it would be a mistake for any TPA to pass this.

That's hard news to hear but sometimes we have to take the bad with the good I guess. Thanks Steve. I have been watching and listening a lot since I first joined and you seem to know if it is that bad or that good.

I hate giving bad news but I have to way too often.

Sitting here thinking for the last 30 minutes.  I was thinking that the two signatures seem to have been signed at the same sitting by the placement and size of the signatures which caused me to think that it would have then been during the time that the two of them were performing as a duo using the idea that Simon didn't like to sign Simon and Garfunkel items which I would figure would be after their break-up as a duo.  With that break-up happening in the early 70's I would then think that is was signed before the early 70's and thinking about it I'm not sure if blue sharpies were around at that period.  So with that reasoning I am now inclined to doubt its authenticity as well.  Does that sound close to it would you think?

Technically, Sharpie came out by Sanford in 1964. I do not know the colors available then. Steve might.

You caused me to look it up Eric and I found that black did come out in 1964 and was the only color until 1979 when brown, green and blue came out and since Simon's name is written in blue it had to have been signed after 1979.

That looks more like felt tip than Sharpie. Did they have sharp Sharpies back then?

They had blue, black and red felt tips, and maybe other colors.

There also were the markers our moms put our names on our clothes with when we went to camp.

Were they the markers we used to call magic markers back then?

Shhhh....you're telling everyone how ancient you are.

Yes, those are the markers.

You brought up points I didn't think about but they would be worth considering. I don't think they're real because the slant and curves in the writing are similar and the slant is about the same,  so they appear to be by the same person to me.

Plus they don't have the look and "feel" of their autographs.

The Paul Simon signature is not authentic.
