Def Leppard originally was just supposed to sell these prints at their Las Vegas residency but they're now available online

For what it's worth;  I've known about this for several days but didn't post because it was too much of a pain to try to use this format instead of just giving a quick reply. Ive been on here for years and as much I understand why this was done, I also think we should go back to the other method..

Yes this new system is a failure and is so stupid.

I agree. This new way...is idiotic, and I'm less likely to log on and check things out. STEVE -- please, go back to the old system. If people don't want alerts on their phone or whatever, because people talk about their orders...THEY can log out of those, and just come onto the site every few days and check things out.

Why is it a failure? Why is it idiotic? It's as easy as posting in the big discussion. People can find what they want quickly. People can follow the forum and be notified of new offerings without getting chatter they don't want.

With the current system, you either follow the discussion and you're notified of every reply, including chatter many don't want. Or you don't follow it and have to search through the discussion to see what's new you're interested in.

Please explain. I don't get it.

Fully agree !

It is so much easier to use now !

One artist, one discussion, and one single alert for each new artist instead of 10 or 20 alerts per day for people explaining they got a signed copy with initals instead of full signature or complaining about the shipping costs from the UK to the US or whatever !!!!!

Sorry at work so a bit hard to post much.  I understand why this was done,.however,.in the past you could quickly click on any of the emails that came through with posts, hit reply and quickly add a new post or link. Now you can click and just go to that discussion but need to find the deals thread and start a new topic. It sounds easy but it is more time consuming and not something I (and likely others) can quickly do on the fly (especially if trying to do it discreetly at work, on a date, etc).  AML tends to log you out regularly also adding to the time.  This, of course sounds pretty, but the additional time and searching back for the correct thread to post in appears to be enough to ward off people from posting as much as evidenced by the sharp decrease in posts.

That's just my take and I don't think the new format is idiotic at all but it does take extra effort.

Loads of people now don’t bother to post new stuff because starting a new thread each time takes to much time. Loads of offers have been missed recently because of this stupid new format.

its quite simple a poll should be set up to see which system people prefer and I guarantee it won’t be this one. It doesn’t work.

No, it takes the same time.

Reply: click reply, type text, click send

New thread: click ADD (up on the right), type text, click send

No difference !!!

Chris,

No, you're not being petty. I'm glad you said this. Do you know that you can be notified of all new discussions by clicking follow at the bottom of the main forum page?

I'll talk to Rich. I think this is so much better and easier. For instance, you can search for a discussion about an artist, which you can't do in a discussion unless you use the main site search box.

I'll do a quick video on how it works.

I prefer the new format.

The group discussions are more cleanly accessible, they allow keyword tagging to make historical discussions more searchable and I like the fact I get just the initial email unless I join the discussion.

My way of using this Category Forum is

·       Monitor initial email to see if it is a signed edition of interest to me

·       When I have more time to see additional comments use a saved reading link sorted by latest activity (https://live.autographmagazine.com/forum/categories/musician-direct...) – this also gives me easy access to the add a new discussion

Agree with Christopher that on the alert emails it would be useful to have a link to post a new discussion to the root category.

Andy W and Christopher,

Thanks for your feedback. It's really valuable. There are features on Autograph Live that many members don't know about. That's my fault and I'm working on it.

The screenshot below is from my phone since more members use mobile than computers. But it's very similar on computers.

1) You said you'd like a link in the alert emails to post a new discussion to the root category. Do you mean, as in this case, the Musician-Direct Autograph Sales forum? If so, see arrow 1 below. Above every discussion on the right is a "+ADD" button. You can use that to add a new discussion in whatever forum you're in (Beatles, Star Wars, this one, etc.).

2) You said you said you used a saved reading link to take you to the main Musician-Direct forum so you can check out all the activity. See arrow 2 pointing to the forum name. That's a link that will take you to the main page of the forum so you can see all the latest activity.

Do these take care of what you'd like, and are there any other things you want?

Thanks Steve that really helps alot!

I'm so happy to hear that, Christopher!
