Beatles Photo

Hello, everyone. I don't have a question about an autograph, but I thought that perhaps someone here might be able to help me. I have acquired an old Beatle's photo, and it looks like an origianl photo to me. I looked in Google images to see if I could find another one like it, but there wasn't one. Does anyone know how I could find out if the photo is an original photo?

Actually, it’s spelled McBroom. This is probably his most famous photo of his from that same shoot. He also shot the swimsuit photo of Farah Fawcett used for the famous poster.

LOL Yes.. McBroom! I was multi-tasking. I read about him, and also the famous Farrah Fawcett photo... which he said was a spur of the moment thing.

It would be unusual for a valuable photographic print to be framed in such an inexpensive incorrect manner. What are the dimensions? If a standard size that might also be another point to the bad. Looking at the other prints to see if yours has been cropped is would also be helpful.

Yes, I agree that it would be, but the frame itself is interesting because it has a hole drilled in at the top and the bottom. I've only seen that done when photos are hung on a wall in a place like a restaurant (like Hard Rock Cafe or Fuddruckers.) But, I think it has been in that frame for a long time. I suppose that Hard Rock Cafe has been around long enough.

I didn't want to damage it by peeling the tape off that whoever did this put on the back of it to make it stay in place behind the black border... but I couldn't take it any longer. Though it has been slightly cropped, it looks like a real photo to me, and it has the number 1022 printed in the lower right hand corner. Around the edge (the part that was against the border, and not the glass) you can see the black and white color that it all once was. I am thinking that maybe it received direct sunlight, and that damaged the photo.

You just have to click on them. When you upload choose "left". From the last image - the detail of the lower corner, it appears a copy print. It appears to lack the full rich darks and crisp clarity of an original - from these photos you've posted. The damage was mostly caused by the lack of a mat which a quality photograph would have. The photo was in contact with the glass. It appears to be a gelatin silver photograph, especially from the damage type.

OK. Thank you. Disappointing, because it looks like it has silvering. It looks real to me, but I'm not an expert, and that's why I'm here. :-)

Happy to try and help Sharla :) Wish I could do more - my knowledge of photography is centered around the years 1905-1909 (Ocean Liners) and 1939/40 (NYWF)
