I recently purchased this Satchel Paige autographed baseball and was hoping for some reassurance from the community. It went for about $600 which seems low but came with JSA LOA so I figured I’d take the risk. If it is indeed authentic, what’s a good price point for a single Signed Paige baseball ?many thanks to you all!

Looks like my signed photo.

I’m not a Paige expert, but this looks good to me.  I believe a single-signed Paige ball can be worth a few thousand dollars or so.  However, generally speaking, if the ball is personalized, it is generally not considered single-signed even if there is only one signer.  I’m not sure why that is.  But collectors looking for a single signed ball generally want no inscription.

Again, generally-speaking, a Ruth single signed is worth more than one with an inscription, although I don’t fully understand that either, because Ruth single-signed balls are much more common than the one I have with an inscription.  Ruth balls inscribed to someone are much more scarce.   My opinion is that the more writing in Ruth’s or Paige’s hand the better!!

Do you think it would be a horrible idea to try and “remove” the personalized inscription if that is actually possible ? It seems like it’s the difference between hundreds of dollars from what I’ve seen. Any ideas how to remove ink?
