I decided to start a new thread so everyone could see the results without digging

looks like they failed it for Baseline, and age of ink, irregular letter formation..

time to get my refund and report Kevin Martin to as many legal entities as I can, doubt it will do any good

Sorry it's not good. I was surprised to see that JSA listed specific reasons for why they don't think that it's real. I thought they did the same thing that PSA/DNA did: list the same 10 or so possible reasons without narrowing it down. Maybe that's only for LOAs and not COAs.

Thank You, Is what it is Steve.

it sucks, I wanted an authentic Ruth. But it’s a lesson for me that I will never buy anything that has come through Kevin Martin’s hands. I had never heard of him till I purchased this piece

You found out it wouldn't pass a major TPA quickly, when you could still get a refund, instead of years down the road. You were smart about that and protected yourself.

JSA is right about the baseline and it didn't even occur to me. Ruth's overall baseline was pretty consistent when he signed for fans.

Plus what's especially telling in yours is that 'Ruth' is at a different angle than 'Babe'. I don't remember if that was pointed out by anyone in one of the earlier discussions. 'Sincerely' as well. All 3 words are at different angles. That's a sign of the words being written one at a time, not all at once.

I drew parallel lines on the photo to show:

The other two reasons JSA mentioned make sense as well. The high degree of feathering in of the ink, and the shape of some of the letters.

I didn't notice the Sincerely at a different angle till they pointed it out either.

with that said, its a very good forgery. I am really disappointed, I wanted a Ruth..

But good Ruth's can be had for $2500-$3000 from Lelands and REA. I will buy one from them, I will have a Ruth in my collection!! LOL

Yes, Lelands are REA are both good companies.

Yeah, the ones on ebay right now are way overpriced.. like $7-8K for a signed authentic cut

$3,250 delivered!  No buyers premium or taxes.  I challenge you to find a better deal on an authentic Ruth signed photo.  This should go for $4500.

Very nice signature.  However,  I think most would prefer a bit personalized signature as well as a baseball photo... I think these two issues hurt the value- IMO..

This sold for $3600!  Personally, I cannot see anyone preferring this. Imo

I actually do not like personalized items, unless I am the recipient. or unless its made out to another famous athlete from the athlete.

I prefer signed cuts, and would even a cut a Babe Ruth Auto certed by JSA or PSA if it was in a letter to another individual. I want to display the Auto only. Unless the letter is really good historical content.

I think that’s a GREAT photo, Daniel!  The Babe was known for his love of kids.  Personization has never bothered me.  To me, the more writing in the Babe’s own hand should increase the value.  And, on historical items, I don’t think most people have a problem with personalization.  Just look at all the Beatles personalized pieces that command high prices.  I’m interested.  I can’t do it right now, but in a bit of time perhaps.

Daniel, I just sent you a message (friend request).
