I think the fact that these aren't like $3 or $4 is a good sign... also, I haven't had any issues as of late returning signed CDs from official artist stores when I've found the autos questionable

Normally I'd agree with you that the "normal" price is a good sign (compared to the Bieber singles that are almost certainly going to be APs), but lately even that hasn't meant much.

Ozzy's autopens weren't in his normal store, but they were directly advertised on his social media (Twitter/Instagram), and they were full price too.

Similarly Lil Wayne's CDs were full price from his store. They weren't autopens, but I'm still not convinced they're authentic.

Agreed.. the ozzy debacle certainly left a bad taste in everyone's mouth here. Not sure about the Lil Wayne situation, but I think the extended timeline is also a good sign for these autos. Hopefully its to give her time to fulfill all these orders. If I'm not mistaken, Ozzy and Lil Wayne both went out only a few months after everyone ordered them?

Yeah, those two were quick turnarounds. Lil Wayne went up early February and shipped late March, Ozzy went up late February and shipped beginning of April.

Since other artists are being mentioned, what was the concensus of the Selena Gomez items?  Real or AP?

we can all compare these autos here when we receive them in 2023 or whenever they're supposed to arrive .. lol

You may as well compare Lady Gaga to my autograph,  I have gotten her many times IP and each time it was different,  The only thing we can check for is autopen, and it would be nice if its proven they are hand-signed.

Agreed .. mostly just want to rule out autopen with others on here. Many examples authenticated by PSA and Beckett to refer to on eBay otherwise

Gaga generally has been good with this and the big timeframe is mostly likely to accommodate the requests. I too was shocked by the December estimate, but considering I just received a signed item from an unrelated artist (took over 6 months) I can see that being a good thing. I’m sure the Ozzy incident has left a sour taste with insiders and customers. It’s more of a precaution would be my guess

I think Halsey's at just about the 6 month mark right now. Gaga's preorders are through UMG Stores, so maybe they've finally just decided to offer more realistic expectations.

I would say that’s probably the case. I rather deal with that than having to keep messaging customer service asking for a realistic update and not “been delayed.” A 3month++ is reasonable timeframe to sign stuff. Wouldn’t be surprised if stuff got mailed out earlier, but now we have a better expectation instead of the crazy quick turnaround

The original estimate on the US store said their generic 12-14 weeks, but I don't see that now. I agree with you all that the December 31st is just a placeholder - maybe the latest their system allows right now. Presumably this just means "we'll get these to you when we get these to you."

If I had to guess, they're factoring in the fact that seemingly every signed preorder ever has been delayed (even in a normal year), and now there's a risk of the pandemic causing more havoc later in the year that might impact fulfillment again.

That said, it only takes the Autopen company a couple of weeks to produce a new autopen template for their machines, so it's kind of ridiculous that they often make us wait months and months for a fake signature. It seems like autopenned products could be turned around much quicker. Plus this album was originally going to release in early April I think, so they've had extra time to order the templates and fire up the machines.
