I'm a bit confused here. Were you the seller? It appears this item sold on eBay on the 18th by a seller living in the USA. The quick opinion is dated the 19th. It appears the name of the seller matches close to the name the quick opinion was addressed to. Am I confused?

Hi Joe,

I was confused by the date but it does state 18th at top of page and I presumed reply to opinion was to be received by the 19th !

Ok. Is this "seller" the person who purchased it from you? And now they are trying to use a PSA quick opinion a their reason to return the item to you?

People place wayyy too much weight on Quick Opinions rendered in seconds!

Hi Joe,

I sold the Disney to this gentleman. He told me that he could not pay for a few days as he was waiting for £2000 to be refunded to his credit card.

He also asked me for a copy of the Phil Sears opinion.

Then last night out of the blue , he sends me a message saying that the signature is fake, backed by a PSA Opinion.

ask him to get an opinion from beckett. i don't think psa/dna has anyone credible on their staff when it comes to authenticating entertainment stuff

So why don't you send this into Phil and get it fully certified. It would instantly make your Disney signature more valuable, more sellable, and end this type of potential pitfall. Not sure why someone would spend that kind of money without solid documentation included as well. Getting paperwork with this Disney would be a smart move on your part.

Thanks for your reply. If I lived in the USA than that would be fine but it would cost a lot of money to insure the item and pay Phil as well.

I just sold a Eric Liddell autograph for £500 and it cost me over £50 to send it with insurance.

To insure the Disney for £2000 to the USA and back + paying Phil would be high.

It would not be worth it

I guess that's a risk you are willing to take. Close to $10,000 is a lot of money for anyone to spend without assurance. And it's a shame a $10 quick opinion is able to interfere with a potential sale.

I don't have any problems with a person using a quick opinion BEFORE making a purchasing decision. But gets me is when someone buys before receiving a quick opinion then using it as a valid reason to return an item. Backwards logic, IMO.
