I purchased this Ted Williams signed photo online and did not come with any COA. Being somewhat new at collecting HOF signatures, I think it looks pretty good, but I am just going off of a few books i bought on the subject and PSA's online database, so i know that I could easily be fooled by a decent forgery and would like to here from those with some expertise and experience regarding Mr. Williams' signature style. Does this look good to you ? many thanks in advance and will be back soon enough i am sure!

Looks good IMO. Compare you posted signature with the bad example I have displayed below, notice the letters are the same size in " illiams " with the L's slightly higher then compare that with the forged signature with the letter size and how the slant is off toward the right. Forger's struggle to duplicate the letter size and maintain the correct slant.

Terrior is the expert between us. I'm fooled as well with this forgery. Wow

I'm not an expert on William's signed photos.  Balls are easier to detect.  But in this one, it looks too stiff, and the open characteristic of the d and a concern me.  William's signatures have a personality, the forgeries are lacking that.  This is just my opinion.

I am no expert but I did spend three days with Ted in the 90's and watched him sign over 100 of my photos from my collection right next to me and have all of the images to compare against.  It is difficult to say without seeing it in person. Here is where I am challenged:

1. Ted usually starts off fast and the pressure is light typically - I believe that is why you see so much variation in the loop on the "T".  It appears that the ink is thick which means the signer was going through the "T" at a slower speed. I could be wrong and it could just be the lighting.

2. The bowing out on the bottom of the "W" is too late in Williams.  It actually looks like there is a hesitation in that "W" where it inverts and bows out although again, it just might be the photo.

3. Ted is usually heavy on the "a"  because he crosses the "a" but the"m" and "s: are lighter because he zips through it at the end. It looks heavy on all three of the last letters but again, it could very well be the photo.

Well, that is just my opinion and again, I am no expert.

I do not believe this is authentic

I don’t think it is either.

Steve and Terrier are correct.
