New collector (amateur) – need advice

Hi,

I am new and “green” to collecting autographs and wondering where is the best place to purchase legitimate and authentic autographs from?

I have been very interested in Signaturepieces (autographworld, LLC), however, somewhat hesitant as I can’t believe how cheap the prices are. Especially for vintage actors or actresses such as Shirley Temple $55, Gloria Swanson $45, Red Skelton $35 to name a few. Is this legit? If so, how can they sell them at such low prices when competitors would start selling a $100 or $150?

autograph world is very good and items go to the highest bidder ''and yes sometimes you get it for a good price but does the high asking prices sell from those competitors?''

Thanks for the info. So the way I read it, autograph is one of the best and legit. Even in the auctions and non auctions, prices are low and wondering how they do it? Can you recommend other vendors to buy from?

RACC have sellers who collect their autographs in person and you don't have to worry about authenticity. go to their facebook page and learn as much as you can. also toppix is good '' when you find something and you have doubts just post it here or at racc facebook.

Remember, each autograph must be judged on its own merits, regardless of source. Posting potential purchases here is a great advantage.

I wouldn't say "you don't have to worry about authenticity" when it comes to RACC. While I'd agree that they're among your safest bets for in-person collecting groups and odds are heavily in your favor that you'll make out just fine, I've caught their sellers doing less than ethical things that undermine their bottom line a bit.
