I have gotten to the point where I don't purchase from auction unless its something I really want and cannot find. This is especially true since the auction houses started charging tax. The hammer price is tacked on at 25%, then shipping and I pay 10% tax on top of that grand sum. Ouch!

Not at all, X.  But...when you pay $200 for an item...and then an extra $50...I dunno. 25% for an auction to get a cut, when they're getting a cut from the seller, too...it's like I ended up paying $100 more for a $200 item!!!!
