Edmund Hillary, Tenzing Norgay and John Hunt - Are these all okay?

I created an Everest display including:

  • Edmund Hillary
  • Tenzing Norgay
  • John Hunt
  • As well as a New Zealand $5 note featuring Edmund Hillary (not shown)

These all seem authentic to me.  I had found a similar Edmund Hillary signed photo at:

Appreciate any comments and opinions.  Thank you in advance.

bump - Still feeling pretty confident in these being legit but always appreciate opinions from others.  Thank you.

Just going by memory the Hillary compares favorably to many that I got over the years.

Thanks JK.  Sir Edmund seemed to be a generous signer with many authentic exemplars available online.  I was pretty confident but appreciate a fresh set of eyes and years of experience.  Thank you for taking the time to look and comment.  It is a huge help.

beardog1, Not a collector of Hillary, after looking at 3rd party authenticated items I would have to agree with JK about authenticity. Notice how the tail end of Hillary loads up and heads uphill….only my opinion.

Thank you as always, David.  I was pretty confident in these based on the likely authentic examples I found online but always appreciate others taking a look and sharing an opinion, especially when you point out a trait or "tell" to confirm or deny.

I meant to add, great display.

Sort of odd that the person who got the cover signed never got Hillary on it, but it's still great as is.

I never got Norgay. He passed away a little before I did much through the mail.  I did get several Hillarys, including a couple of the banknotes signed.

Thanks JK.  I think the postal cover signed by Tenzing Norgay and John Hunt was done for some event or anniversary since I have seen other examples with the same cover and signed by both in the same way.  Not sure why Sir Edmund did not sign these covers.

David Lewis posted an example of a signed $5NZ signed banknote.  A great item to have signed for sure.

I saw that banknote. It's a nice one.

I believe that is the later polymer note, whereas mine are the original paper banknotes. I believe that he used a sharpie on the polymer, but mine have a lighter ballpoint pen signature. I can't complain, though.

Very nice, authentic IMO

Thank you, Dan.  Always appreciate your opinion and feeling even better about this display based on your feedback and consensus from members.
