Hi Jor-El and M, I'm still interested in getting my hands on a copy. I tried sending you both messages, but it's not letting me do it. Would appreciate it if you could send me a message where I could get a copy if you know of some still available. Cheers!

Why is this thread so secretive? It's friggin' weird.

These are very limited stock most places, and people just want to see them go to actual fans and not just get gobbled up by people who are going to throw an $18 book on eBay for $150+

I get that, but how does the guy with the secret information know the people he's sharing with aren't flippers? Some kind of litmus test? Do they have to sign a pledge?

Also, if we did this with all the posts, it would be a garbage forum. "You guys, I found signed Bob Dylan books at my local bookstore for $29.99, but you'll have to message me first so I can tell you where."

Yeah, I understand where you’re coming from and where he is coming from. It seems like most stores only got 1 or 2 signed copies and aren’t willing to ship so I’d say everyone’s best bet is just to call the small bookstores near you and see if they got any.

Well, I just thought it would be a cool 50th bday present to myself since the song is also 50. I had tix to see Cat in concert, but the show got cancelled because of the pandemic. Anyway, if anyone could help, that'd be great. Cheers.

If no one else will share with you, I'll tell you where I found it this morning.

It's at a store called Book People -- a fantastic bookshop in Austin, Texas.

Called them and they confirmed it's the Yusuf signature.

In the order comments, just tell them you'd like a signed copy. You can also call them and order it over the phone.

Support this indie bookstore. They're great.

Cheers Marshall. Called the bookstore. It looks like they are already sold out, but thanks anyway.

Try look. Up. Arvida Book Co in CA

They may have some

I was able to finally snag one. Thanks all for helping me out! I really appreciate it! Cheers!

Book People ended up canceling my order, too -- after I sang their praises! When I called, they said they had 7 signed copies -- and two hours later, they were all gone. Perhaps someone came in and snagged them.

To go back to the drawing board, I actually used the list of independent booksellers that were selling the signed Channing Tatum books. This list hinted me that these places sold children's books, and signed ones, too. I called the first bookseller on the list I recognized -- Anderson's Bookshop in Naperville, IL, and they had some Cat Stevens books and were willing to send me one.

Perhaps some of the other bookstores on the list might have copies on shelves, who knows?

Haha, I knew this might invite some controversy for some reason, but here's my basic reasoning:

The reason I don't just post the stores like I would for a B&N release or a book event is because most stores only received a handful of copies to start with. By messaging members a store or two that I found them at, I'm increasing the odds that they're actually able to get a copy (because I wasn't sending everyone to the same stores). Plus, anything posted to this board is public, so by messaging I'm hopefully helping out actual AL members and not just "flippers" who read but don't contribute to the boards.

To answer your question about flippers - I have absolutely no idea who's a flipper or not. I just have to hope they aren't. If someone wants to be a flipper/dealer/reseller that's their call, but I don't have any interest in doing their leg-work for them.

Also, nothing about this book release is secret. I mentioned in my post on the first page that these were distributed to independent bookstores nationally. I also said one of the easiest ways to find them was to look on social media. The few stores I told people about were just the ones I happened to know of, a tiny tiny fraction of those who got them.
