Johnny,

Would you eat at a steakhouse run by Hannibal Lecter?

I don't know what Hannibal Lecter has to do with this, but I would buy an authentic Anthony Hopkins signed item regardless of what (if any) authentication comes with it. All that matters is if the signature is legitimate. It sounds like you are looking more at relying on who the authenticating company is rather than determining if the signature is authentic yourself. Actually authenticating autographs is not as tough as you make it seem. It is the fact that people don't want to do the work themselves that cause the authenticating companies to exist. This is the exact same reason why food and grocery delivery services exist. What is funny is that this tangent all started because some people were willing to discard a legitimate Clark Gable signature solely due to the included authentication papers.

Johnny,

If authenticating autographs was easy, authentication services wouldn't exist. I never said everything Global Authentics certified was fake. I'm saying that their COAs are a sign of forgery, not authenticity.

Collectors who buy Global Authentics certified autographs may have genuine autographs they send to GA because they don't know better. But why would a dealer send their own genuine autographs to GA when ones certified by PSA, JSA and BAS are generally far easier to sell and bring a lot more?

Etienne P,   +1….Stick to the ink……leave the politics of the sticker to those who do not know the ink….IMHO

Authentic

Thank you!

My eyes believe it looks fine.

Thank you!

Mark, It is always about the ink. The ink is good and the sticker could get it for you at a better price……

Actually the sticker appears to be on the letter and not the signed page. The seller could possibly not mention the LOA and get a better price.

It is about the ink but when a company acquires a bad reputation it's hard to shake.

My suggestion would be for the seller to ditch the LOA. Then sell it without a certification or get one from one the better know services. Or if you are considering to buy offer a low price and get yourself a good deal.

So I Googled this item and it was sold through RR Auction in April of 2013. What is the date on the Global LOA?
