UPDATE (9-23-2022): I SOLD this Guitar to a collector in Germany!!!

This was my 70s (at the latest 1975, because Harmony ceased business in 1975. I've seen another one of these guitars for sale with an original receipt dating 1971) Les Paul clone made by Harmony that has been boldly signed in some form of felt tip pen by John Lennon in 1976 below the bridge. It is inscribed:

"To Fred Love John lennon (Doodle) 76"

Anyone know of any other John Lennon Autographed guitars? I know a few were signed at WFIL and I know a Frank Sinatra impersonator who got an epiphone acoustic signed at WFIL. There's also one signed in green felt tip pen to a "Jesse" in 1975.

I was EXTREMELY TEMPTED to alter this by removing the inscription of "To Fred". I'm not "Fred" & I've never sold or been inquiredto by a "Fred". It's signed in a felt tip pen on a slick surface so a little alcohol on a cue tip would get it right off without anything left behind. Leaving it makes it less appealing and partial to a niche name group, but keeping it adds more forensics to justify the piece. Whst should I do?

In 2019 i was stricken with a horrible bartonella bacteria infection from a cat scratch thst was not properly cleaned which caused damage to my frontal lobe. Here recently I suffered a silent stroke and have been having many cognitive issues and have been contemplating future decisions on what to do with my collection. I have sold a handful of items already to fellow collectors and beatles fans (In August Gottahaverockandroll auctions sold my John Lennon signed copy of imagine with multiple COAs including 1 from Frank Caiazzo!!!)

To avoid the "Jesse" same name premium ;)

Ah I see.

Here's the other one oli know of. This Beatles/Frank Sinatra impersonator who got his guitar signed at WFIL. I've contacted him about it numerous times but no response.

Well, a bit of a contrast issue there. Ballpoint? Yours is much nicer IMO.

Thanks! I'd love to see this guitar tho

What a treasure. Leave it as is and I hope you get better soon.

I will. And thank you.

Thank you for showing such fabulous items!

Always!!! Love this hobby and love the preservation of history.

"In 2019 i was stricken with a horrible bartonella bacteria infection from a cat scratch...."

That's commonly called cat scratch fever. Be too funny if it wasn't too ironic.

I dont teally consider that a laughing matter. It caused damage to my frontal lobe. I had a silent stroke last year due to the slight vascular atrophy it caused. It took away my ability to properly use my right pinky, ring finger and middle finger. Be sure you clean cat scratches thoroughly, especially if they're from a cat without proper vaccinations. VCSFY.

I'm viewing the story in the context of your Lennon autographs. I don't think that any of the ones we discussed are real.
