I had pretty good experience in photographing through glass and plastic. You cannot use a flash and distance is imperative to get clarity. It can be done.
Your profit margin at a grand would be great, but you should get the premium you deserve for such a great piece!

Thanks for responding, Bob. The problem I'm wondering about is -- when I bought it 18 years ago, it came in this neat glass box. I can't figure out how to open it to take photos. The signatures are faded a bit, but you can read all the names clearly. I just don't think photos from outside the box will look good, and I don't want to attempt to open this neat case for it. And I'm sure if I go the auction house route, they'll want to have detailed photos, etc. I'm almost thinking of just taking it to a baseball card show, and saying "The first $1,000 gets it," but I feel that's letting it go too cheap (especially when I paid $550 for it 18 years ago!!!)
