Here is what they said to me--I think this is so shady, and I hope if everyone continuously emails them they'll eventually give us a straight answer:
Signed copies are only available while stocks last and will be allocated in chronological order.
Unfortunatly I am unable to confirm whether you will receive a signed copy.If this is not acceptable to you and you would like to cancel this order, please let me know and you will be issued a full refund.

My only experience with this sort of thing was the Dan ackoyd signed poster. In that case the tag was removed only after they ran out of signed copies (a fact I wish I had known at the time as Ackoyd is one of my unicorns).
No ganrantees it is the same here but the fact they did remove it gives some hope.

My concern is that they'd left the tag up and it was our emails that prompted the removal. Ah well, let's see. It's only a few quid more than my existing Amazon pre-order which I've now cancelled.

Her reply to me was also a cut and paste but included the sentence “you might get it” referring to the signed version. Was worth a whirl.

I’d buy the book anyway, I’m a big fan. If it’s signed it will be worth a lot of money. If it isnt then I’ll enjoy reading it.

They are a reliable Irish book store chain. It's almost certain they will get exclusive signed books as previously stated.
It's likely they took it down as they realised they could not fulfil so many orders and there would be backlash.
Even though I have no proof I bought it whilst it said "Pre-order a signed exclusive edition. While stocks last.", I have to assume they are an honest business and they will do as they said.
It would be worse if they left the banner there indefinitely.
