That site looks like the byproduct of a late-night infomercial scheme. The weird "always starts at one hour" countdown clock, the way it tries to guilt-trip the buyer into making a monthly donation... seems like it's there to sucker people into donating versus actually offering something of interest.
Barring that, this is the exact kind of book I'd hold off on. Sounds more like an Al Gore situation, where he'll be doing the lecture circuit for years to come. Plenty of copies will be available down the line.

I recommend only going in person to purchase these books at a local store, so you can see firsthand if any of them have a spine.

I'm not easily offended, and I figured the joke was vague enough that it could be about either side, so I thought it was pretty good.
